Sabin Dual Language Magnet School

Negative experience: As an alumni, I can honestly say this school isn't great. Administration is not very competent, the consequences for actions are a slap on the wrist for the offender and a suspension/detention for the victim, and treat "Special" students with all the royalty treatment in the world. The adults responsible for the supervision of said "Special" students are not very great at their job either, they let SO MUCH stuff slide and don't even care about what horrid stuff they do/say. They do not do equal justice and have obvious favorites, and if they do not they will aqcuire obvious favorites. The amount of bullying, banter, and provoking in this school is outrageous and has even been noticed in grades as low as 3rd from what ive seen/heard. You can't do anything to stop fights or intervene or you will be seen as a perpetrator and your word will be ignored. The teachers are incompetent and will not listen to what you have to say. The administration treats phones as if it were cocaine and will take ridiculously UNNECESSARY measures to shake your phone off of you, seriously comparable to a robbery. But theres always some good in the bad right? Yeah, but just a little and its not too significant. this school is extremely awful and I do NOT recommend it AT ALL. In conclusion, PLEASE stray your kid away from this school until they have resolved these issues (or you want them to be in an incompetent environment.)

Fantastic experience: The Staff is awesome and caring for their students. The kids is highly enthusiastic with lots of energy for learning.

Negative experience: As an alumni of this school, I am extremely disappointed with how this school changed for the worst. I just received word that kids are being bullied left and right all because the staff won't keep some of their students in check. And the worst part is that, should a student be caught being bullied by someone, both sides end up in trouble and no action is taken in order to "protect" both sides. Are you telling me that no action will be taken until someone gets injured? Absolutely NOT.

Fantastic experience: Public schools rely on incredible servant leaders who happen to have the title of Principal…. Matt Baker at Sabin is the type of principal you need - one who supports and advocates for teachers, students, and families, because of a deep belief that every child deserves that type of experience. IPaintMyMind couldn’t be more proud to work with Matt and his entire team at Sabin on custom murals to bring their hallways to life. This doesn’t and can’t happen at all schools, and it does at Sabin because the faculty and staff make it so!!

Negative experience: This school is the worst because you don't learn lesson

Negative experience: This school get you lunch detention and suspend you for the littlest things. I don’t like it they should change it. .

Positive experience: Its okay, but I think the black children lack the necessary education when it comes to our history. Everything is geared toward Hispanic culture! No disrespect to their culture, but in the end, the black kids are getting the short end of the stick. So its imperative that as black people we continually teach/and discover our black history!

Negative experience: They need to stop blocking hirsch entirely and get a place for parents to park! It causes too much unnecessary traffic on both bell and leavitt st
