Fantastic experience: Very engaging and fun class to be in. Also as far as language classes go, this is a really good price/value and you walk away from even Beginner 1 with super practical knowledge. Good to know: In the Beginner 1 class, you're shown all of the characters for the words you learn, but everything is in Pinyin (using Roman alphabet) which makes starting out very approachable.

Fantastic experience: I had been wanting to take an in-person class to learn Mandarin Chinese for a while after taking a semester in college many years ago. I finally found a class in the downtown area, and Andy is the best! He is a great teacher, entertaining, and very understanding of obligations. I love that he was able to teach via zoom and in-person. It made it easy for me when I had to juggle home life and work and still want to attend class. If there’s a next level class, I will definitely sign up again!

Negative experience: Cannot hear the lessons due to bad sound equipment. Not worth the money

Fantastic experience: Professor Andy Zhang is an amazing educator!! The best of it all was his clear passion for teaching and how easily he makes Mandarin Chinese look like! His classes are fun and very detailed and you don’t even need to take too much notes in order to remember anything. That’s how good he is! I’ll be back for my II level course 100%!!

Fantastic experience: I was a student for a few weeks at this Chinese learning school and I can say I had a good experience. The teacher is really nice and Patient and the amenities to the classroom are lovely.

Fantastic experience: I have been taking classes at CMCC with Andy since late last summer and they have been great! I have taken beginner courses 1-3 and am about to begin the beginner-to-intermediate class. Andy’s materials and teaching have been a tremendous help as my wife and in-laws are Chinese. Slowly but surely I am improving every day and feel much more equipped to communicate with my family!

Fantastic experience: The classes here are taught by Andy and he's great! The lessons are engaging and challenging but also fun and interesting. Andy's also really funny and makes us all laugh throughout the lesson. They're just once a week and taught in groups as multi week long programs and so it doesn't feel like too big of a commitment. He also has a ton of different levels so there's something for everyone. Overall, this is a great way to supplement your Mandarin learning journey! 10 out of 10

Fantastic experience: I enrolled my high school daughter in the Level 1 Manderin class. The instructor was excellent, not only in presenting and explaining the material, but my teen found him entertaining and personable, making it easy to hold her attention and learn throughout the 2hr class each week. The instructor's tips and techniques helped her learn quickly and retain the learning. An e-book comes with the class fee, but we recommend buying a physical copy to make notes. She used it frequently for reference. Highly recommend!

Fantastic experience: I took the Beginner Level 1 course. Andy is an excellent teacher. He’s patient, inspirational, and also has a great sense of humor. It’s easy to see that he is passionate about teaching Chinese. I’m looking forward to taking the next series of courses.

Fantastic experience: I have been taking classes with Andy at the CMCC for the past two years (started in 2020). We've been remote throughout (over Zoom). When I first expressed interest in learning Chinese, I was told by many it was extremely challenging, but working with Andy it has been enjoyable and intuitive. He's a great teacher that focuses class around conversation - both having our own conversations in Chinese and translating the conversations of others that he creates. He also brings a lot of joy and humor to the class that helps with memory retention, and a lot of knowledge of Chinese customs and culture that give you an insight into why you're studying the language. I highly recommend! I've gone from knowing zero Chinese to being able to carry on a conversation and read basic texts under his guidance!
