DSS Colorado - German Language Schools

Fantastic experience: It was such a pleasant surprise finding a German Language School in Denver. Language apps were no longer cutting it and I wanted to immerse myself in a new language. Mareike is a wonderful instructor and made learning a new language fun and exciting. I'm looking forward to continuing my studies at DSS Colorado.

Fantastic experience: Such a great place to learn German. Schedules are at a lot of different times to meet your family’s needs and classes are affordable. Me and my kids have taken classes in preparation for our move to Germany. The staff is amazing and welcoming. Highly recommend!

Fantastic experience: My German language has skyrocketed at DSS in Denver. Five years there have paid off. I interact with German tourists arriving in the US and have enjoyed new levels of professionalism and conversation, in German, with them, courtesy of DSS and Mareike. It's been a blast! Fun, informative, enjoyable on many levels and the program runs with German precision and Colorado camaraderie. Looking forward to the coming semester.

Fantastic experience: I had a great experience with DSS Colorado. All our questions about the program were answered within the same day, and I really appreciate how both teacher, staff and classmates were always super friendly. I am currently taking a group class with Mereike (level upper intermediate) and the lessons are very dynamic, but minding that anyone is left behind, using a book as a guide, but also complementing with discussions, current topics and other materials. Fantastic experience: I have been attending classes at DSS for a few years and I love the program. The materials used are well developed to move at just the right pace to challenge us while allowing for real learning. Most importantly, my teacher Mareike is terrific! She’s knowledgeable and encouraging, always positive and very professional. She has gone out of her way to help me make up for missed classes as well as with areas where I’ve needed additional guidance. She supplements the standard materials we use with pertinent group discussions, videos and activities that relate to what we are learning. I highly recommend Mareike and the program overall!

Fantastic experience: I have been taking classes with Mareike for 5 years now and it has been an amazing experience. I started as a beginner and am at the intermediate level. Not only has Mareike been extremely supportive and encouraging, she makes our classes fun. She has the patient of a saint and I look forward to my class every week. We have built up a community in our class and get together outside of class. I highly recommend DSS!

Negative experience: I inquired with this language school about taking German lessons while I was living in Denver. The lady who took my call was extremely polite, and friendly. She explained to me that classes had already begun, however she would see if anybody had some time set aside. I explained to her that I believed my german to be about intermediate, and she got me lined up to take an instructional class with Mareike. Mareike made contact with me shortly after via telephone call a week before our meeting was to take place. She also mentioned that if I needed to cancel, or to reschedule, to be sure to reach out to her in advance and let her know-no Brainer. We had our first lesson, and I left. A week later on the day I was to come back in for my second lesson, Mareike called me an hour before such lesson was to take place telling me she was doing some spring cleaning, before informing me that she believed my current level of Deutsche to be lower than that of someone at an intermediate level. She advised me that she did not teach the beginners courses, and canceled on me the day of my appointment 45 minutes before it was to take place. She told me that she would reach out to her colleagues who taught the beginners level to see if anyone had any available time. I never heard back. Unprofessional, and a horrible overall experience.

Fantastic experience: My daughter's experience at the German school Saturday program and summer program has been fantastic. The teachers are great, providing excellent education in a nurturing environment. My daughter comes home from school with completed projects that both challenge her and enhance her German-speaking skills. Highly recommended for parents seeking a top-notch educational experience for their children.

Fantastic experience: I took the beginner's 4-months class with Sonja and couldn't be happier. The class is well structured and very fun, the teacher is extremely knowledgeable and prepared. I would give more stars if I could! 10/10

Fantastic experience: My daughter started here just a few months ago, and she loves it! She's excited to go to preschool every morning. We love her teachers. I appreciate that they go outside everyday, they are taking covid precautions seriously, and that she is learning a second language through immersion! Happy we found this little gem.

Fantastic experience: My daughter started here with the Weltenbummler and still attends afternoon classes. I love that they have classes for all ages! My daughter loves the staff.
