Fantastic experience: Just one problem – I didn’t want to leave and three months went by too fast. Summer 25, Program 30+, B2+ level, progress in 3 months +20%. TEACHERS Experienced professionals and interesting personalities. Warm and personal approach. A real passion for teaching and languages. Lots of laughter and fun in many classes. But careful – if it’s fun, it doesn’t mean you’re not learning! ;) SCHOOL SYSTEM Morning General English classes – two different teachers during the week, which was great. Every teacher has a slightly different method, approach, and accent. Afternoon Focus Lessons – You can choose from different options with different teachers. Either go with the teacher whose style suits you best, or pick based on the topic. For example: English for Work, Speaking & Listening, Reading & Writing, Vocabulary. Highly recommend for faster progress. One-to-one lessons – more expensive, but if you have a specific goal you need help with, I really recommend them. BOOKS & METHOD Amazing National Geographic textbooks that encourage you to connect with classmates from all over the world and bring in topics that are interesting for 30+ students. The learning is interactive, practical, and adapted to the fact that many students stay only for two or three weeks. And it’s real learning – be ready for homework :) ACCOMMODATION My experience: • Lexington 525 Residence – clean, quiet, well-equipped, perfect location for exploring the city. • Shared apartment, Upper West Side – the best! You live like a real New Yorker in a brick building with a black fire escape and a rooftop, just a few minutes’ walk from Central Park, in a calm and safe part of Manhattan. LOCATION Perfect spot, which makes the school an excellent basecamp for afternoon exploring. For relaxation, you can go to nearby Bryant Park, and for studying, the beautiful NYC Library is right there. SUPPORT Got a problem? Don’t worry! The EC School team is full of professionals who are always ready to help. I just don’t understand how they manage to remember so many students’ names AFTERNOON PROGRAM A great opportunity to meet more students and very helpful if you’re a bit nervous about exploring the city solo. CLASSMATES I’m taking home real friendships with people from all around the world. Fantastic experience: Highly recommended – outstanding teachers, excellent organization, and a prime location! In May 2025, I attended a two-week intensive English group course (recognized as Bildungsurlaub in Germany) at EC School New York, at the B2–C1 level – and I had nothing but positive experiences. As a native German speaker, I needed to apply for an F1 student visa at the U.S. Embassy in Germany in order to attend the course. The EC School supported me with an extremely helpful, detailed guide via email, which clearly explained every step of the visa application process – a great service that made everything much easier and less stressful. Before the course began, I received access to the EC online portal, which provided useful information about life in New York – including how to navigate the public transport system and cultural tips to avoid common faux pas. I also took an online placement test to ensure that I was assigned to the correct class level. On the Sunday before the course started, the school offered a free welcome tour with other students and the lovely activities coordinator Samantha, who showed us around the area near the school, which is located right in the heart of Times Square. The location is truly unbeatable – I stayed in New Jersey and could easily reach the school within 35 minutes (bus and short walk). The Monday orientation day was very well organized: Joe, the mastermind behind the school’s logistics, and his assistant Ju provided a warm welcome and explained everything in detail, with a great sense of humor that created a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. After a short interview for final placement and receiving our learning materials and weekly schedule, we were assigned to our classes. I was lucky to be placed in the groups led by Allison and Tatiana – and I have to say: both are truly exceptional teachers! They are highly skilled, genuinely passionate about teaching, and incredibly attentive to each student’s needs. The small class sizes (maximum of 12 students) created a dynamic and interactive learning environment, allowing for meaningful engagement with both teachers and fellow students. The lessons were diverse, practical, and very interactive. We worked in groups, did role plays, held discussions, conducted interviews, and tackled a wide range of topics. If you had specific areas of interest, you could always bring them up, and the teachers would seamlessly integrate them into the lessons – a level of flexibility I deeply appreciated. The school itself is modern and well-equipped, with its own app that helps you review and practice what you’ve learned. In addition to the classes, EC School offers a rich variety of afternoon activities – both free and paid – including museum visits, Broadway shows, sports events, and themed tours (e.g., the history of New York followed by a visit to Central Park). These activities are fun, informative, and a great way to connect with other students from around the world. My conclusion: EC School New York stands out for its excellent organization, unbeatable location – and above all, for its extraordinarily committed and inspiring teachers, who create a welcoming and motivating environment for every student. I felt completely at ease, learned a lot, and met wonderful people. Thank you for your amazing work – I’ll definitely be back next year!

Fantastic experience: Excellent program to improve your English naturally while enjoying a wonderful city. In my case, I took 4 weeks of the EC Escapes + 30 program. The classes and teachers (Carlos and Patricia) were very good, with intense interaction with the rest of the course. The outings class in the EC Escapes program are a lot of fun, where you gradually incorporate the language naturally. With the group of students I was with (B2+), we organized outings every day, so we continued practicing and improving our English through conversation. A special mention to Bindu and Elaine, who took care of every detail to make sure everything went nice.

Positive experience: A experiência com a escola foi fantástica! Para quem tem interesse em um curso 30+, as aulas são bem produtivas e a nossa turma, foi excelente. Infelizmente, com a acomodação indicada pela escola, não tivemos tanta sorte. Fizeram uma obra (sem nos avisar) no nosso 2o dia, uma obra mesmo, quarto completamente desconstruído, para reparo no teto, o que me causou um dano de saúde enorme, 2 semanas de sinusite, antibiótico, mal estar, não tivemos nenhum atendimento cuidadoso, não nos trocaram de quarto, não enviaram ninguém para limpar nosso quarto, tivemos que nos virar e ainda conviver com o cheiro de tinta. Dias depois, nos "deram"uma limpeza, de cortesia, infelizmente, já não resolvia o problema da minha saúde. Portanto, caso optem pela hospedagem do curso, tomem o cuidado de avisar na recepção que é terminantemente proibida a entrada de qualquer pessoa sem autorização prévia.

Fantastic experience: EC New York is highly professional, yet open-minded and almost family-like in its dealings with students. I felt like I was in good hands from the first to the last day. The model: Mon-Wed-Fri and Tue-Thurs with two teachers is brilliant. A particularly big thank you goes to my both teachers. You are a great team! It was a real pleasure to experience the classes with you. Learning together with students from so many different countries was a very special experience. We all learned a lot about living and working in our respective countries. The additional offer (classes on 9/11 or Hamilton, walks in the neighborhoods or a visit to a musical) is fantastic. The EC New York team is simply great! . The location of the school and its premises are also convincing.

Fantastic experience: I only stayed at EC New York for a week, a choice I somewhat regret. It was a really enriching experience. The staff are adorable and always ready to help. The fact that we take level tests before arriving at the school allows us to be in a course that suits us. The lessons are very well structured, so that you progress very quickly without getting bored. In addition to learning to speak English, we also learn about the culture of other students sharing the same class as us. What's more, on certain afternoons the school organizes activities open to all students. Some of these are free, such as writing classes or outings (to Coney Island, for example), and for others we have to pay like going to see Broadway shows. It's an experience I'd recommend to anyone with their eyes closed: you won't be disappointed!

School itself is very nice and everything organized very well. Atmosphere is amazing because people are beautiful there. 3 hours of classes fly by. Fantastic experience: it was a very positive experience for both the students and us teachers. The English school was perfect, both in terms of timing and the type of lessons. We knew the type of host families and were therefore prepared for a different concept of cleanliness and attention to cooking from our own. Nevertheless, some families, such as Fernandez, positively amazed us. However, we all had a great time with the families. May be the only negative note was the distance between the families themselves: we would have preferred to have the students closer to us. However, everything went well. Hopefully we will be able to repeat such a great experience next year.

On est au cœur de New-York et de Broadway, à quelques pas de Central Park. Les cours sont rythmés et jamais ennuyeux, les profs supers sympas et surtout compétents !! On travaille avec des manuels passionnants de National Geographic sur des sujets actuels (par exemple basés sur des conférences Ted). Negative experience: If you are agent, don’t work with this school!!! Many unhappy students. The managers only care about money and don’t refund when you scared about coronavirus and want to go back to home country in March 2020. It’s a serious situation but Bindu just say ec rules no refund. Even for a pandemic? Stupid! They really care about nobody!!! they think change to online classes is the same? No! Students should get some money back and go home if they feel it is safer. If I want take English online I just pay Brazil company.

Negative experience: This educational business fails to support their students equally. They will deny all responsibility and ignore uncomfortable emails or comments. The company thinks they can just post a cheap easy square on social media and move on with their life. No care in addressing what has been going on in the US, where they’ve opened much of their schools.

Fantastic experience: Okay, what can i say about EC school. I was there since 26 of August till 5 of October 2019. I found a lot of new friends from all of the world: Korea, France, Italy, Switzerland, Japan, Columbia, Spain also from the USA and etc). First day: I was met by pretty elegant lady Bindu Varghese. She explained me all rules and conditions about school, she made me my pass, Scott made an interview for me, they put me in intermediate class and i started to study. During my studying i met a couple teachers but the best on is Nolan! He is very interesting and an intelligent person who can explain for you everything that you didn't understand. Also EC school has a good activity program. We had a party on the rooftop, we were on Yankee game, the musical, shaboo shaboo))), an etc.) Also i would like to mention another super-cool guys: Emily and Kaiser. If you meet Kaiser tell him that Vodka pass a hello to Tequila))). Eventually I can say that i spend there a marvellous time and i'll come back with great pleasure!

Учительница (афроамериканка) буквально ненавидит русских, унижает и публично доводит до слез! А высокомерие всего персонала просто поражает! Реакции нет! Нет извинений и потраченных денег!

Negative experience: Ужасная школа! Пустая трата денег и времени. 1) Было 2 учителя, один из них не вёл занятие, а тянул время, он не наладил дружественную атмосферу во время занятий, абсолютно непрофессионально, очень скучно, это было шоком для меня за такие деньги! почему-то с первого же занятия не обращал на меня внимания, я чувствовал себя некомфортно, он всячески избегал контакта со мной! я даже усомнился в его квалификации, если честно. Я думаю, это был студент или выпускник. и это мне есть с чем сравнивать!! Лишь второй преподаватель был действительно заитересован в работе с учениками, мог подойти вне класса и поговорить. 2) Персонал школы весь на пафосе, все уставшие и с покер фейсами. кажется они загруженны лишними обязанностями. Не очень то дружелюбные. подходить и что-то спрашивать у них лишьний раз не хотелось. 3) Атмосфера в школе не очень располагающая, у меня в университете повеселее было между парами на юридическом факультете. Здесь же люди приезжают на пару недель, как правило. Здесь будто бы прям не знаю что. Ко мне в группу во время обучения пришла новая ученица, она была очень хорошо настроена и всега улыбалась, но улыбалась она не долго, и очень быстро для неё также рутинно стали проходить занятия. 4) Цена. ОООчень-очень дорого, не стоит сюда приезжать "учить английский"! Эта школа, видимо, хорошо прорекламирована, но не соответствует той цене, которую я заплатил всего за 3 недели обучения. 5) Расписание было не удобное. в один день в 8 утра до 11.45 дня, а в другой день в 2 часа дня и заканчивалось все это в 6 часов вечера. + платные / бесплатные доп занятия. на которые мало кто ходил. 6) мед страховка! мед страховку, которую они навязали мне за 25$ в неделю не приняли в больнице, когда я простудился! Они ещё и заставляют покупать медицинскую страховку за большие деньги, без этой страховки не допускают к занятиям. я даже не знаю что ещё ужасного в этой школе есть, единственная причина по которой я ходил в эту школу это второй препоаватель, он был со мной очень добр и открыт к общению. Абсолютно НЕ РЕКОМЕНДУЮ приезжать в эту школу! Моё настроение испорчено и деньги выброшенные на ветер. ничего нового я там не узнал. я изучал английский на языковых курсах в своем городе и был на Мальте на самых дешёвых подобных курсах(не эта школа) поэтому могу 100% сказать, что это ХУДШЕЕ место для изучения языка. THE WORST! я остался очень расстроенным.

Negative experience: 最悪な学校。時間とお金の無駄。 大きい会社だからと騙されないでください。 金額&有名＝安心ではありません。 他の語学学校に３ヶ月通っていたのですが、 そちらが潰れるということでこちらにきました。 先生は教え方がわからない。 (単語の紙を配られて、自分で調べて終わりなど) とにかく授業のクウォリティーが低すぎる。 家で勉強した方が断然為になる。 たまにクラスの半分以上は日本人 11人中6人など。 日本人同士でペアワークしていても何も気にしない。(以前いた語学学校では、必ず他国同士でペアワークでした。) スタッフの対応も人によりですが、全く親身になってくれず、ディレクターに関しては何も話を聞いてくれない。この学校はディレクターが最悪です。というかこの体勢でよく成り立ってるなと思います。 学校辞めたいので、返金してくれといって2週間経過、なんの進展も無し。 (辞めたいと言った途端、態度急変でとても素っ気ないです。何もしてくれません) こちらが英語を話せないことをいいことに、 辞めるのを引き延ばそうとしている感じです。 日本人多すぎてニューヨークまで来て勉強する価値なし。 学費高いのに、なぜこんなにもクオリティが悪いのかわからない。あまりにも酷すぎる。 １００%オススメしません。

Negative experience: I visited this school to have a look around, to check details of program. After all, unfortunately I decided to NOT join. Because all of receptionists attitude were awful. During one of staff was explaining important info, the other staff made fun of us, it's really rude. Also the staff was lack of politeness. those were really disgusting me. In addition, even though if I paid for the course tuition, there’s possibility that I can’t get a class due to less numbers of people who take same course than set rule. It’s totally worthless, stupid to me. Hope your service will be improved. あまりにもスタッフへの教育が行き届いていないことに愕然としました。インターンだからというのは理由になりませんし、少なくともビジターヘの説明の際に、貴社について“うちら”と口述するのは避けた方がいいと思います。事前に学校見学の確認の際の電話応対（英語）も最悪でしたし、最初のインプレッションで学校の価値を大いに下げてしまっていて残念です。カリキュラムや料金システムも全く納得できない内容でしたので、見学したことで間違った選択をせずに済み、不幸中の幸いでした。検討されている方は注意された方がいいです。Discountがあるからか、日本人がかなりいる印象でしたのであまり環境が適していないと思いました。ご参考ください。

Negative experience: It's a very poor center, I had studyed here for some time and saw how they were cheating. In order to keep students longer , there they decrease results in the exams.Even the test results are not automatically, setting by their wishes. Dont go there for not losing your time and money. Это очень плохой центр, я некоторое время учился здесь и видел, как они обманывают. Чтобы удержать студентов дольше, они уменьшают результаты экзаменов. Даже результаты тестов не автоматически, устанавливаються по их пожелания. Zamanınızı ve paranızı kaybetmemek için oraya girmeyin.

Positive experience: Excelentes profesores siempre dispuestos a ayudar (aveces como guías turísticos). Clases multiculturales, con equipo de alta tecnología. Te asignan un lugar donde vivir, aunque aveces es demasiado lejos de la escuela. A mí me tocó en Brooklyn, muy cerca de Coney Island, hacía 1 hora de camino en subway. Recomendado para periodos cortos de tiempo.
