Fantastic experience: Love ABC ! I started beginner group French lessons with the wonderful Kat in September and liked her so much that I continued private lessons with her. Still taking individual lessons now. Kat is amazing! She is super engaging, always explains things clearly and doesn't get frustrated when I ask the same question for the 5th time! :) If I have a question mid week she is available via email to answer it. She is really the best! ABC administration is great also--responsive and helpful. So get this! I had long toyed with doing a French immersion class in France. Once I started to take lessons with Kat I thought hmm...maybe I can do this. And...in 5 weeks I am off to France for 3 weeks of French immersion school. I had to pass a test showing I was done with A 1 (entry level French ) and I scored high A2-low B1. I nearly fell off my chair when I saw the score. All thanks to ABC and Kat!

I have been doing this course with Rehab Hussein Mohamed for the past 3 months and I can now listen to full conversations in Arabic and able to understand what they're saying. It's a great course with awesome teachers and teach you the material in a way that suits you! 5 out of 5

Fantastic experience: Classes are great. Just enough size, 3-6 students. Tatiana is very good at her job as a language teacher. Students are angaged and they return to class everytime. Participaiton is very high and we motivated each other. When I try to recall a phrase, I would always think about how Tatiana would say it so that I can copy. Retention is very high the way ABC language/Tatiana does it. The only improvement needed would be availability of more classes. My day ends at 7pm, so like a 7.30/8pm class would be ideal.

Fantastic experience: I just finished a semester of Spanish with Dana Radeka, and I highly recommend her class! She's a great teacher—patient, informative, and encouraging. Dana places a strong emphasis on conversational Spanish, which really helps with real-world use, while still making sure grammar is thoroughly taught. An excellent balance for anyone serious about learning the language.

Fantastic experience: I enrolled in conversational Spanish with Dana Radeka and had a wonderful experience. Dana was organized, patient, and very encouraging. Although the coursework was at times challenging and I had doubts around my capabilities after many years of not speaking the language, Dana gave tons of positive reinforcement and created a safe space for us to practice and learn. Fantastic experience: I took weekly online beginner Spanish lessons with Angel for 8 months and I couldn’t recommend him more. His classes were fun, engaging, and he never let you take yourself too seriously when you got something wrong. I had to stop for personal reasons, but I plan to take classes from him again! I also loved that the class size was pretty small (3-4 ppl) so you got a lot of speaking time.

Fantastic experience: My 11 year old son had his first lesson with Carol Ishiguro today and it was amazing! She’s such a skillful Japanese teacher who works great with kids. She was kind, and patient, and held his interest for the entire hour. She was extremely flexible, adapting the lesson to the topics that most interested him and came extremely prepared with teaching materials to make the lesson seamless. We enjoyed every second and he can’t wait for his next class with her. I highly recommend ABC language and give Carol 5 stars for making such a wonderful impression on my family!

Fantastic experience: Through ABC Languages I was connected with the most amazing Spanish tutor, Angel Haya. I had studied Spanish on and off since adolescence in classroom settings and so I was not a beginner but not quite at an intermediate level. I was able to read and write a bit, but unable to speak and listen. Angel customized the curriculum to my very specific needs and schedule. I would definitely recommend ABC services. My experience with this service and with my tutor was excellent!

His accent, vocabulary, grammar, and understanding of nuance is next level as a result of Kerstin's fantastic teaching. I highly recommend ABC Languages and Kerstin. Flexible scheduling. Fantastic experience: I've been studying Spanish at ABC Languages for 6 months now and have had several teachers during that time. Right now I'm learning from Angel Haya, who is a smart, supportive, and patient teacher. In addition to the grammar exercises, with Angel we have interesting conversations that help us activate what we're learning. I recommend ABC Languages and would encourage you to study with Angel. Fantastic experience: Our teacher Kenneth is great. I've taken 3 French courses with him so far, he always has a good class prepared and would modify our class structure and homework according to the feedback we give him. Our classes are packed with material and although French is very difficult, he' very patient and will take the time to go over material as many times as we need. Highly recommend it!

Fantastic experience: My colleagues and I took a beginner Spanish class through work, and we had an amazing time. ABC Languages was quick to set us up with a Spanish teacher based on our needs, which included a focus on Latin American Spanish. Our teacher was kind, organized, patient, and very knowledgeable about multiple dialects of Spanish, as well as other languages. We learned the basics, including grammar and vocab, but we also learned through songs, Spanish news articles, and other sources beyond the textbook. We also learned how different Spanish-speaking countries say different words and phrases for the same thing, which was helpful and interesting. ABC Languages was also very flexible with scheduling, as we often had to reschedule due to work travel & commitments. 10/10, would highly recommend!

Fantastic experience: I truly look forward to my Monday evenings because I get to practice Spanish with a great group of people. Israel is a fantastic instructor and really makes learning fun for us. This is one of few dynamics where I feel completely comfortable practicing my speaking. My only regret is not joining these classes almost a decade ago when I was first introduced to ABC languages. I also appreciate the program managers and how helpful they are when I have logistical questions. :)

I’ve improved so much since starting with him, and I actually look forward to every class. If you’re thinking about learning Spanish, I can’t recommend Angel enough. He is very understanding and takes the time to respond to emails and if you aren't available for the class, but be sure to constantly teach yourself outside of class like he mentions. Fantastic experience: I loved my experience taking online spanish lessons with Profesor Angel through ABC languages. I started at beginner 1 and have progressed to beginner 3, heading to intermediate levels, all staying with Angel. ABC makes it so easy to continuously roll forward with additional classes so you can keep the same schedule. Angel's classes are engaging, fun, but also challenging, so you really feel like you are learning throughout the program! He applies real spanish dialogue and examples so you do not feel like you are just in a textbook/classroom setting.

As a newly-retired language teacher who had spent 3 years completing Duolingo's Russian course, I have been exploring former Soviet republics and have been stumbling through with a few useful phrases. Armed with a smattering of vocabulary and no actual grasp on grammar, I started complete beginner group classes online with Maria V, who is an extraordinary language teacher. She is organized and prepared, personable, knows her stuff--and can share her expertise clearly in excellent English. I am also impressed with ABC languages, as they are responsive and courteous, taking good care to place one in the correct class and treat their clients respectfully and fairly. Highly recommend.

Fantastic experience: I'd absolutely recommend ABC languages to anyone looking to learn a language. I grew up understanding and speaking a fair amount of Spanish, but it's been difficult for me to find something that challenged me to the point of actually learning and retaining the language. I signed up for the online total beginner classes with Miguel and it was exactly what I needed! He did a fantastic job at adapting the class to everyones needs. I needed help when it came to understanding conjugations and grammar and the class covered all that and more in such a short period of time! I also really liked the class size and I really enjoyed getting to interact with the other students. Fantastic experience: When I learned about ABC Languages, I hesitated to learn another language. Still, Valentina, the Russian teacher I was paired with, proved that language learning isn't as mundane as NYC schools make it out to be. After going through traditional language learning methods to build a foundation of knowledge, Valentina came up with the idea of teaching Russian the same way people learn their first language as kids. Lessons were restructured to teach grammar and vocabulary through everyday conversations. This worked for me because it tied abstract concepts with something tangible, like conversations. Valentina's ability to be flexible with her teaching style matched well with my learning style. Valentina's teaching gave me an advantage when I took Russian in college.

Fantastic experience: Claudio is an excellent Italian teacher. He finds the right moment to teach whatever a student may be needing to learn. He is erudite and knowledgeable about Italian culture and his english is perfect if he needs to explain something as well. He is responsive and helpful with a great sense of humor too.

Fantastic experience: It's difficult to teach beginners online, but Maria makes it look easy. She is very encouraging and will correct you to an appropriate degree. She's also very patient with students who may be less familiar with grammar. I'm learning a lot of Russian from the class materials, which are well-organized and paced realistically.

In the months prior to the trip I started taking private lessons with Giovanna. She was so incredible and her approach to teaching me was exactly what I needed. Fantastic experience: If you're looking to learn Spanish, ask for Belen González. In just a few weeks she has dramatically increased my business-Spanish proficiency in meaningful, relevant ways using current events, articles and engaging real-world examples. Classes with Belen are always dynamic and fun. She has great follow up, is flexible, and uses her experience and intuition to ensure maximum results. While my focus has been business-Spanish, Belen picked up that part of my work would entail taking Spanish-speaking clients out for meals. Without me asking, she prepared an entire class on how to order food and drink in restaurants and taught me about native Spanish etiquette. Super useful! Her goal-oriented approach drives results, and I couldn't recommend Belen more highly.

Fantastic experience: Dana Radeka is a phenomenal Spanish language teacher. She is really good at teaching beginners with lots of patience and keen understanding of their learning challenges. She actively engages all the students during her classes irrespective of their learning background.

Fantastic experience: I've been taking beginner Spanish classes with Dana R., and it's been great. Dana is super patient and encouraging, making it easy to learn. She gets everyone involved to make sure we all understand the lessons and are learning effectively. Even if we don't understand everything, she instructs us mostly in Spanish and then repeats in English, so we're constantly hearing and learning new Spanish words. I appreciate the small class sizes, and the coordinator at ABC was very helpful making sure I found the right group for my level. Class consists of a nice mix of structured textbook work and less formal conversational exercises to keep things interesting and engaging. Angel is always happy to answer questions and provide more resources if you need more practice outside of class.

Fantastic experience: I enrolled in the beginner Arabic course with Rehab Mohamed. This is by far the best language learning experience I have ever had. I usually struggle with languages but Rehab does a great job at creating an environment that allows one to learn. What I appreciate the most is her attention to detail and answering any question at each student's pace. She gives ample time and attention to each class mate - all while being very patient. 10/10 would recommend and enroll again.

Teaching a language over zoom can be challenging, but Dana navigates these challenges well to keep the class engaging. Dana can model her teaching style to different ways of learning and abilities. Fantastic experience: I've been taking the private Arabic classes option with Joseph Halabi (after some time taking group classes at abc w/ JH & others) and he is by far the best language learning teacher I've had. He understands lgs from both macro and micro views and is able to help us move from the idiosyncratic grammars of our native languages to the grammars of Arabic in both rational and instinctual ways. He does this primarily through an insistence on sentence deconstruction. Personally I like that as it constantly offers different routes to accessing a new language. This does not mean he ignores pronunciation drills or the memorization of various connecting particles and infixes (the sources of MY chief difficulties!), along with, of course, lots of vocabulary and where on a language map the various Arabic dialects fit. He does all of this with a gentle good-humored touch, and tries to meet your needs (and a little more) at the level he thinks you're capable of handling. His patience is extraordinary ... and lucky for me, quite forgiving! I hope to sign up with him again once I get more of the foundational stuff he taught me processed a bit more firmly in my brain. I would definitely recommend him to anyone else who is interested in either group or individual Arabic language learning.

Fantastic experience: I am currently taking up Spanish beginner courses with ABC Languages, and I am having a great learning experience so far! Señor Angel Haya, our instructor, is easy to communicate with and has been good in terms of his teaching style and pacing. I also appreciate that our instructor cites the differences in word usage of Spanish speakers in Spain, Mexico and South America, and shares some cultural notes on Latin America. ¡Muchas gracias!

Fantastic experience: I've had the absolute best time re-learning spanish with Angel Haya! He makes the hour and half class fly by + makes sure to take it slow to engage everyone in the conversations. Would highly recommend!

Fantastic experience: I’m taking Spanish classes with Angel Haya and let me tell you, he’s terrific. His classes are engaging, positive, and highly interactive. The 90 minute sessions fly. He assigns homework and he corrects your accent and your grammar - as he should! The homework is really for the student’s benefit because he uses the class time for more difficult exercises and interactive discussions. I also like how he provides equal “air time” to all students. The topics discussed revolve around the adult learners day to day life - so they are very relevant. Oh and he speaks very clearly and at a “normal” conversational speed. Really enjoying the class and would highly recommend him as a teacher

I have a busy schedule so fitting in one 1.5 hour session a week is all that I can do right now but I am hoping to add a second day during the week during my next course.

Fantastic experience: I took online Arabic lessons with Joseph Halabi for just over a year while conducting research for my MA in History at NYU. Joe's guidance and instruction were absolutely indispensable. Often times I had to translate archival documents that were hand-written in specific dialects. I simply would not have been able to accomplish this task without Joe's help in breaking down the grammar, vocabulary, and abbreviated style of these documents. I personally, attribute my acceptance into UCLA's PhD program, in large part, to Joe's help in learning and understanding the Arabic language.

Fantastic experience: I took an online group class to learn French Pronunciation. Honestly, I wasn't sure what to expect. I had an incredible experience with the talented Prof. Elizabeth. I discovered how to pronounce vowels and how to carefully move my facial muscles to get the perfect word sound. I have an American accent and never thought I could acquire that beautiful French sound. Prof. Elizabeth encouraged us to engage, ask questions, and enjoy the experience of the "art of French pronunciation." She is patient and informative. The class was fun, enlightening, and stimulating. The experience was gratifying as I journeyed to learn French with confidence! Prof. Elizabeth's teaching methods are on point and very rewarding. I will continue practicing Pronunciation and am grateful to know there is a way to sound clearer when speaking French with a native French person.

Fantastic experience: I recently started taking Russian classes in order to more easily travel through former-Soviet republics. The teacher, Maria, is very patient and explains grammar and pronunciation so that it makes sense. She makes sure to give each of her students a turn so that everyone has to (gets to!) practice speaking, translating, and conversations. I am really enjoying the classes!

Fantastic experience: I took a beginner's French class via zoom with Sophie Sayaque who made each class very fun and engaging. Each class was different and she taught us words and grammar that would be helpful in conversational French. I thought the games and videos she used were very helpful. I would definitely recommend Sophie.

I'd highly recommend learning with Maria - she is a great teacher and takes pride in ensuring that we make progress. After twelve weeks, I have decided to enroll again to continue my studies!

Fantastic experience: My goal this year was to learn Spanish for my work in South America and I’m so happy that I stumbled upon ABC languages. Their classes are affordable, they have convenient class times and my instructor Angel is incredible. He’s patient, knowledgeable and makes learning Spanish fun. Even when the content gets a bit difficult to grasp, Angel patiently explains in a way that’s easy to understand. Couldn’t recommend this class more!

Fantastic experience: I'm currently taking an intermediate Spanish class and I could not recommend it more. When I first started, I was nervous of the class size and my conversational skills but Dana is a fantastic teacher and makes you feel at ease right away. The class size is small which is great and the individual attention during the class makes learning the language very easy. Dana really makes the class fun and engaging and is SO patient! I highly recommend taking a class with her and look forward to continuing learning Spanish with her!

Fantastic experience: Angel Haya is a wonderful and patient teacher. He explains everything very well. It is so great that he is in Cali, Colombia and can teach our very small class (3 students) us over Zoom. He repeats the lessons appropriately so our class can learn the material well but not too much as to make it boring. He is funny and the 90 minutes per week we spend with him passes quickly. The homework is reasonable and relevant. He is always available to answer questions. I highly recommend Angel.
