Fantastic experience: I tried several times over my life to learn Spanish, but it never took. At school, via tapes, via various apps. Now that I am working with Ahsan weekly, in three months I've developed a real vocabulary. I can understand the fairly complicated stories we read together, and I'm able to read back some of our earlier lessons with increasing skill and comprehension. This is by far the most I've learned. After four months I will have a vocabulary of roughly 2000 words. Reading builds comprehension, showcases the quick method to change any word with quick endings. When I read back older material to Ahsan, I work on pronunciation, translation and precision. Much better than I ever progressed via the other methods I've tried. At 57, never too old to finally aprende neuvos trucos.

Fantastic experience: I started taking routine Spanish lessons prior to enrolling in a class at LIG, and found that the typical Spanish class did not move nearly fast enough or provide me with sufficient information to allow me to advance quickly. When I learned about the approach LIG uses, it seemed completely intuitive to me - after all, this is how all of us learned English as a first language! The graded reader method exposes you to so much more than just "vacation" Spanish - it really develops your familiarity with and understanding of the language, which moves you closer to fluency much more quickly. After only 6 weeks in this non-traditional class, I advanced at least twice as far as traditional class would have taken me, according to traditional placement tests. The effectiveness of this method depends a lot on the student's willingness to invest time and effort - you can't become fluent in a language by the silver spoon method. If you are dedicated to reading and doing the suggested activities between classes and committed to developing your understanding of the language as a first step toward speaking fluently, then this is the class for you!

Fantastic experience: I have been taking Spanish for the past few months. I am 47 years old and have tried learning Spanish unsuccessfully many times in the past - with Ahsan's method I have noticed a significant improvement already! I am motivated to read short stories between our classes as I do find reading has been an amazing way to build vocabulary as its entertaining at the same time. Although I can understand written Spanish much better than I can speak, I can see how that will come with time. I am already understanding people speaking Spanish much better than I was able to before. Thank you!

Fantastic experience: This was the best decision choosing the Language Institute of Georgia. I have a very basic word knowledge base and have tried using apps and very well-known expensive programs with the hopes of eventually becoming fluent. Nothing has come even close to this instruction. Using the graded reader method has been astoundingly effective and the instructor is the most patient and explains every thing you ask. He literally goes LINE BY LINE through the book. He is extremely knowledgeable and has been incredibly flexible and understanding when I had sudden schedule changes. It's easy to see that he genuinely wants you to learn the language. If you're on the fence about what route to take in your journey to fluency, don't be. This is the way to go!

Fantastic experience: I’ve been taking classes with Ahsan for about 3 months now and am enjoying it! I really like this method of teaching where you learn how to read and understand before attempting speech. I’ve learned lots of vocabulary. Also, the stories are enjoyable. Ahsan is very flexible and accommodating. Would recommend!

Fantastic experience: I’m very happy with my Spanish-language experience at the Language Institute of Georgia. Ahsan is brilliant and is a great teacher. I really enjoy the graded reader method, as it allows me to keep encountering the same words in various contexts so that the meaning actually sticks. There’s no pressure to speak when you don’t even have a vocabulary, yet, which is what many language methods push for. Instead, the graded reader method allows you to learn at your own pace and absorb the information. I’m on my third round of classes, and I definitely feel like I’m making progress and understanding a lot quicker. I’m slowly getting comfortable with speaking some sentences. But people don’t realize that there isn’t a method in the world that will get you speaking well right away. It takes time, and you have to build a foundation. I highly recommend the Language Institute of Georgia if you’re looking to begin that foundation and build upon it!

Fantastic experience: Ahsan is fantastic and I highly recommend working with him if you'd like to learn Spanish or German. The graded reader method works well for high absorption and retention, since it's all about recognition through reading. I am taking my third Spanish session with him and I've learned so much- I am now recognizing more vocabulary when I see it elsewhere. He teaches small classes (up to 6 people) and also offers private sessions in person or virtually. He is very flexible with scheduling, so if you are considering learning Spanish, give him a call. Conveniently located off I-285 in Sandy Springs. Ample free parking.

Fantastic experience: Graded reader (GR) is a very unique way of learning a language. In fact, I was somewhat skeptical at first because reading isn’t one of my favorite things to do. I've completed level 1 and on the second week in level 2. I can say without hesitation that it works. My latino friends, which saw me from knowing only “hola and que paso”, says that not only am I learning it very fast but also proper. Before I started GR, I tried more than 5 or 6 ways of learning Spanish - including programs, apps, and even immersion. I did learn a lot of phrases. After the GR course, I’ve built a large enough vocabulary to hold meaningful conversations.

Fantastic experience: I have been taking Spanish classes here for the past few months and I honestly can say they have helped me tremendously! I have a lot of faith in this teaching methodology, and I really get a lot out of the course work. Lo recomiendo mucho para todos!

Fantastic experience: I've been learning Spanish with the graded reader method at the Language Institute of Georgia for about 6 months now and I love it. The graded reader method actually enhances fluency and re-enforces sentence structure so that you remember it rather than the traditional method of just memorizing vocabulary. Highly recommend giving it a try.

Fantastic experience: I've been learning Spanish on and off since I was in kindergarten, and this method has worked best for me in putting together all my Spanish knowledge "pieces of the puzzle." Class sizes are small and very personal. The instructor also makes himself available for make-up sessions if you happen to miss a class.

Fantastic experience: Learn by reading! The Grader Reader Approach - it is very effective, easy and more interesting than other teaching methods. I have tried several courses, DIY books and online classes only to pick up lots of vocabulary that I cannot use. The Graded Reader method allows you to learn grammar & vocabulary at the same time. No more memorizing lists of words, phrases & such. No more rote, repetitious conjugating. You're reading stories line-by-line with the teacher explaining/translating throughout. The stories are entertaining and without realizing it, all the pieces of language come together in a practical way. The grammar & vocabulary are repeated throughout the stories in various forms to build & reinforce what you've learned/are learning. I'm sold on the method. And, the instructor is great too! Ahsan is engaging and funny. I'm always surprised when our 2 hours is up. Already signed up for the next session!

Fantastic experience: Excellent class. A different approach to learning a language through the use of graded readers. Expect to get out of it it what you put into it. With daily study one can learn a new language with this approach in less than a year. Small classes that focus on the individual. Highly recommended.

Fantastic experience: The school presents a fresh perspective of learning based on natural language rather than strict grammar. Our class is small (3 people) and flexible.

Krisha Patel Published on Google 8 years ago

Fantastic experience: I took the Spanish class with Ahsan and absolutely loved the method of reading graded readers. His approach makes learning Spanish a natural process. I had previously tried online and other classes but they were focused alot on vocabulary and grammar so after years of that I'm still at beginners level. Once I took this class, I immediately saw the difference by reading the laungage in it's original state rather than piece by piece. His method makes it easier to retain. I HIGHLY recommend this class!!!

Fantastic experience: Absolutely loved the class! The graded-reader method is a technique I believe should be taught in schools. The instructor is great and the class sizes are small and personal. Would recommend if your interested in not just speaking the language, but understanding how to read it as well.

Fantastic experience: I have thoughly enjoyed my Spanish classes at the Language Institute of Georgia. I have taken two class and about to start my third. I was not familiar with the reading method of learning but just after a few classes I was excited to see how much I was learning and retaining. I would recommend these Class to anyone who wants to learn Spanish.

Fantastic experience: I have really enjoyed the first series of classes. I've learned quite of bit of Spanish words and sentence structure and have learned a lot about learning languages.

Keith Petroni Published on Google 8 years ago

Fantastic experience: Having taken Spanish classes and also online training (Rosetta and others), I was discouraged- I hated memorizing lists of words, conjugating verbs, etc. The Language Institute's method of READING and comprehension is so much more enjoyable, more natural to how I learn, and it's working. It really is silly to memorize or repeat words you don't remember or use in context over and over in the hopes it sticks. By reading real stories, you begin to learn context and the stories themselves help you 'figure' out words you are not familiar with. I actually don't mind studying on my own, and find that I am retaining things more naturally. Using the methods taught here you can begin teaching yourself outside of class- using anything and everything you find written in Spanish as material to learn from.

Fantastic experience: I have studied Spanish on my own, using various Apps for over three years. After a few months of working with Ahsan, my wife (native Colombian) can notice a huge progression in my understanding and recall. I had never heard of the Reader Method before meeting Ahsan, but have found it to be a very useful tool.

Fantastic experience: I love this class! The Graded Reader Method really makes the most sense. I am learning more than I thought at a quick pace and Ahsan (the professor) is so encouraging. Would recommend!!

Fantastic experience: Really enjoy our time with Ahsan. He keeps it light and the Spanish just seeps into our brains. :)

Fantastic experience: I'm currently in the middle of the intermediate class. It's great! I really like the guided reading method of learning. It feels intuitive and comfortable, and while it's not always easy, our instructor, Ahsan, is always ready with a metaphor about learning that is both encouraging and entertaining. Our class is small, only three people, and questions are frequent and welcome. I'm learning and I really enjoy the class. I definitely recommend it. *I took the sample class before I signed up for a six-week course. If you're unsure, it's a nice way to test the waters before you dive in.

Fantastic experience: I have thoroughly enjoyed my time with Ahsan learning. I love this method of learning languages and I am looking forward to gaining a good knowledge of Spanish. I am also looking forward to trying this method with other languages in the future. Ahsan, your candor and teaching style are comfortable and adaptable and I really appreciate this as well. Thank you for the past six weeks!

Fantastic experience: I recently completed the Basic Spanish course and enjoyed it so much that I wanted to post this review. I have tried software programs like Rosetta Stone, and apps like Duolingo, but never felt like I was truly learning the language. I consider myself more of an analytical person, so it was frustrating to focus essentially on a vocabulary list rather than seeing (analyzing) how such words are used in realistic written or conversational contexts. The graded reader method fits so much better with my style of learning. By reading an intriguing story, seeing key words repeated in different contexts, and having the instructor discuss grammar patterns along the way, my comprehension increased more in 6 weeks than in the several months devoted to the software mentioned. A good analogy is a paint-by-numbers picture. The previous language learning methods gave me a bunch of colors (words) and expected me to paint a picture (conversation or written passage) from a blank slate, a rather difficult challenge. The graded reader method provides a nicely outlined picture with numbered areas so you know exactly what colors and shades (words) should be used where, resulting in something more identifiable and easier to re-create as needed. Bang for the buck, this was a far better investment, and I’ve already signed up for the next level.

Fantastic experience: I believe the Graded Reading Method is a very useful tool to learn a new language, especially if you enjoy reading. Ahsan is a very patient teacher. He is professional and friendly. He quickly evaluates a student’s learning capability and adapts well to it. I appreciate a safe learning environment where you are not self-conscious about making errors. I have no hesitation recommending Ahsan and the Language School to anyone who is interested in learning a new language via the Graded Reading Method.

Fantastic experience: I have been taking Spanish classes at the Language Institute of Georgia and enjoy their method. The stories give more meaning to the vocabulary and help with retention, plus they're fun little stories. I would suggest those interested in learning Spanish attend one of the sample classes offered. Also, class sizes tend to be very small, so there's plenty of opportunities to ask questions.

Fantastic experience: Great class for beginners with some knowledge the Spanish language. I was able to increase my vocabulary and my ability to formulate a well-thought-out conversation in Spanish. I really enjoyed the format of the class.

Fantastic experience: I highly recommend the Language Institute of Georgia. I enjoy learning Spanish using the Graded Reader Method. The instructor, Mr. Rashid, has two Kindle books on Amazon that explain the method. I'm in the middle of my second class, both classes have been small allowing lots of interaction. This class is worth the investment!
