Experiencia fantástica: Cannot recommend Vicky highly enough. I never thought learning Chinese characters could be possible but she uses many examples to make it feel accessible and fun. She uses so many tools (visual, auditory, games, motions) to help us understand the material and pays attention to any material which could use a second go-over so that we can focus on the grammar or vocab. Jin, in particular is fun, engaging, and extremely knowledgeable not just in the subject matter (she is a native Chinese speaker after all) but also in how to teach different kinds of students effectively. I’ve taken Chinese classes at many different schools before and Jin ranks at the top of my mental list of teachers.

Experiencia fantástica: I am about to complete my level 1 studies and am excited to continue with the program at level 2. The multimodal structure of the class is wonderful. This is not simply memorization. Each lesson is interactive on multiple fronts and challenges me experience Mandarin rather than just memorizing vocabulary words. The program, much like Mandarin the language, is experiential. I am learning not just the words and their pronunciations. I am learning the meaning behind each stroke of the characters and, to my surprise, starting to see connections. This is the best language learning experience I have had.

NCE's approach is fantastic and has helped me fill in many gaps that the phone apps did not help teach, and the weekly instruction with a teacher being able to answer all of your questions and tailor the lesson to your skill level has really accelerated my learning. Experiencia fantástica: I just completed my first round of two classes/week. They are excellent at determining your level and putting you alongside students who are of a similar speaking level. Classes are fun, interactive and get you out of your comfort zone! This helps you grow and become more comfortable speaking. Mistakes are encouraged as it promotes trying again and again until you get it correct. The homework is both stimulating and makes it so you don’t forget everything you just learned. Lessons are all cumulative and touch on concepts/grammar patterns you previously learned. Highly recommend for new students or those who already have studied Chinese.

I have a great deal of experience taking language courses, and New Concept Education's multimedia approach is both unique and incredibly effective. It is also entertaining, unlike many traditional methods. The teachers are all highly qualified and extremely supportive. I highly recomend New Concept Education, especially their one-on-one classes.

I love that they cater to different time needs so I can take my class late in the evening, the FunFun platform is great and lessons are interactive and push you to converse and talk a lot. I also like my teacher Ms. Guo a lot, she is patient and constantly pushes us to be better. They also just held a mid-Autumn event where I interacted with fellow students and my teacher in person, got to do calligraphy and ate moon cakes

Experiencia fantástica: I've been taking one on one classes for the last couple of months and they've been great! I'm Chinese American and knew a little bit from listening to and talking to my family, but I had never taken any formal Chinese classes before this. I was nervous about signing up for classes because a regular beginner's class would be too easy, but because there are basics I never learned, I didn't feel like I could skip beginner levels either. Jin was great with adapting the learning plan to my pace so that it never felt like I was going too fast or too slow.

Experiencia fantástica: I’ve been taking Mandarin for more than a year with Jin 1:1, three days a week. Starting from zero, now I can travel to Taiwan, speak Mandarin with locals, and read enough Chinese to get around in public! Here’s what I really like about the class. Jin and team are ahead of the game! They built their own online learning platform. No boring textbooks but video lessons based on real-life scenarios. They're also actively adding new features such as games/puzzles to keep learning the material engaging. I love how innovative they’re being in their craft as professional educators and incorporating new teaching methods. I also find their teaching strategy to be the most effective. Lessons build on top of one another so I found myself refreshing my knowledge of old material while absorbing new material. If I had a question on some language construct, Jin would give me a clear and logical response. If I had trouble remembering how to write a character, Jin would give me visual cues to help! I always feel I’m understanding how to use the language rather than memorizing so. Finally, the small class/1:1 sessions offer a lot of time for freestyle conversation. In my 1:1 sessions, my teacher and I converse >50 out of the total 60 minutes. Keeping this practice with Jin has significantly boosted my confidence in speaking Mandarin. I appreciate New Concept Education for helping me advance so quickly - 真的感谢！ If your goal is simply to become conversational without having to go through the pain of traditional classes, I’m 100% sure New Concept Education is for you.

I appreciate that she takes the time to explain every detail and nuance to Chinese. I always learn a lot of other extra vocabulary and grammar beyond the course material. The school also has a social event where we learn Chinese culture. I attended once, and it was so much fun to meet the other students! I hope they do more of those as it’s nice to kind of have a community feel with others who are also learning Chinese. I've been exceptionally impressed with the teaching methods at NewConcept Ed. My instructor Jin is so attentive, remembers exactly how much vocab and grammar I have learned, and takes care to answer all my questions! I love learning languages but this is my first time learning Mandarin, and my purpose for taking courses was to learn Mandarin for work. As a native/conversational speaker, I’ve been able to better grasp the gaps in my vocabulary, improve grammar as well as understanding of the culture. Experiencia fantástica: I have taken two 10-week Classes with Amy Miller and I think she is a terrific Chinese Teacher. I've taught English and English as a foreign language, but being on the other side of learning give me a view to how she listens so carefully to her students and prompts us with hints to use our minds to learn Chinese in the moment. She is more patient than I am slow. Jin Chen and Amy Miller have both gone out of their way to help me through the joy of learning chinese and the frustration of using computers and zoom to do it, but now we are all connected and I am ready to learn how better to read write and speak Chinese.

I have always seen learning Chinese as laborious and hard, but taking classes with Jin she made learning so interesting, I would look forward to going to classes every week. She is natural at teaching ,she makes you feel very welcomed and I would feel very comfortable speaking with her. After every class I would be re-energized to keep learning. I don't think I have ever enjoyed a Chinese Class as much as here and think their teaching system is great for all learning levels.

Experiencia fantástica: I've been taking Mandarin for about 3 months now with Ms Chen. Ms Chen is a fantastic instructor and cares very much for the progress and success of her students. The class sizes are very small, which affords a much higher level of individual instruction and is the main reason I find the course to be effective. Ms Chen is proactive in supplementing course material with the students' interests and adjusts pacing based on the group's progress. The course benefits from having been written more recently and is a more modern take on the language/culture. The pacing doesn't feel as breakneck as a serious university-level course - specifically, homework covers what was also covered in person. Similarly, there haven't been any complex assignments like essays or projects (through the level 1 course anyway). The course strikes a good balance between tactical and abstract material, and I feel like it allows me to make good progress without being an overwhelming commitment.

She keeps a keen eye on every student’s progress and often gives extra vocabulary outside of textbook that are very beneficial for us. The curriculum she uses is well-rounded, focusing on grammar, vocabulary, and lots of practice for real-life conversations. This hands-on approach helps in internalizing the language and getting a feel for its flow and rhythm. Vicky is up-to-date with all the latest in China. So you’re not just learning the language, but also getting the inside scoop on modern culture and slang. Learning the latest colloquialism is an invaluable addition to the curriculum in my opinion. Vicky is truly a gem and her class is a fantastic investment for anyone serious about learning Chinese. Highly recommended!

Experiencia fantástica: Vicky is my favorite Mandarin teacher. I have had a few other teachers before and to me she is one of the best and gifted ones. Vicky’s teaching philosophy is creative and fun to experience. We laugh a lot during her classes because in Vicky’s learning environment we are relaxed and not afraid of making a mistake – anyway Vicky will have you correct it. She is kind and not judgmental, which I appreciate so much. Vicky encourages us to speak Mandarin during class as much as possible. Vicky is also flexible in adjusting her teaching methods as to what works better for her students’ needs. We practice listening apprehension, typing/writing words, reading, and conversing with each other. We also do role playing, which is also a fun! Even grammar is not boring (although still difficult), when Vicky explains it, and she often would make an impromptu funny drawing/scheme to make it easier to remember. Vicky’s classes are interesting and entertaining, and not only you learn the language but also gain an insight into Chinese culture. I highly recommend taking Mandarin classes with Vicky! I am going to do it as long as she teaches!

Experiencia fantástica: I've been taking Chinese classes with Lily Huang once a week for 5-6 months, and I've really enjoyed them! I can now have a basic conversation, ask where something is, order food, make plans, etc. Focus is on sounds with some character study. If you put in a little bit of work outside class, the characters stick too. If you need goals in quarantine, I've really enjoyed working on this one.

Sensei Tsukada is has also made class fun by working in allot of conversational activities base on real world scenarios.

The lessons are so well-planned, they help you to truly understand the language in real-life context. Additionally, Vicky is a fantastic teacher- she challenges each student to do their best while making each lesson super fun, and her passion for teaching really shows. Learning a new language, especially Mandarin, felt really intimidating to me, especially as an adult- but she immediately makes each student feel comfortable. I’m excited to continue learning with her!

Experiencia fantástica: I have been taking Mandarin for Business classes on site at my company's offices for about one year now with Jin Chen. The experience has been convenient and great. I only have a couple hours a week to study, and Jiin has been patent and understanding of these needs and focusing on the information we wish to learn as students. I now feel increasingly confident that when I travel to mandarin-speaking locations for business I will not be totally dependent on others to get around, and I have enjoyed learning.

She has a very good and efficient strategy in teaching me Mandarin. I already able to talk fluently with a native speaker, discuss a common topic such as economics, politics, and latest news in Mandarin just for 1.5 years of learning.

The class is a great mix of conversation practice, writing, listening and reading, and the small class size means everyone gets plenty of opportunities for learning. Highly recommended for all levels of chinese learners!

Experiencia fantástica: The teaching methods used and program structure are very time efficient. I am able to make great progress and have good retention of the material with only a few hours a week time investment. I learned enough in the first couple of classes(5 hours total time investment) to engage native speakers while travelling and have fun conversations and experiences. After 2 years I can speak confidently to friends and colleagues. I tried a few online tools and programs at first and found them to not translate to speaking and understanding in real world situations. The classroom interactions were critical to building a confident foundation for doing so. Some tools such as duo lingo are great as an accessory, and I use them still, but not as core.
