Kaplan International Languages - English School in Seattle

Experiencia negativa: Absolutely to avoid!!!! I also had the same terrible experience that many people have reported recently! The school staff is not qualified to teach. Even though they are teaching their own language, they do not have an appropriate method for each level, but instead use the same method for all levels! I was also placed in an unsuitable class despite the initial assurances given to me before payment by the school’s European consultant!!!! The school is old and dirty! The desks and chairs are completely inadequate and not ergonomic, placed in an absolutely unsuitable position relative to the screen where the content is projected, which is also old and unreadable! There is no desk where you can take notes; each student only has a chair with a small desk attached to the chair itself!!!!! All the chairs are connected to each other, so there is not even more than 5 cm of space between the side of one student and the next! The courses are extremely expensive and do not provide the service paid for! The quality of the materials is terrible! If you want to spend your lessons with a teacher who makes you play ball games in a circle to learn vocabulary like they do in kindergarten, this is the right school for you. However, if you have serious academic or professional goals, stay away from this school!!!!!

Experiencia negativa: I am Italian and paid in full for a 5-week TOEFL course in advance at Kaplan’s Seattle location. Before making the payment, I asked Kaplan consultant several questions, including "If the minimum number of students is not reached, will the course still be confirmed?" and the response was "Absolutely yes" (I have written confirmation of this). Consequently, after paying for the course, I booked my stay and flight from Italy for the 5-week course. On the first day of the course, we were shown around the school and given our class assignments (in my case, ADVANCED level). The next day, the official start date of the classes, I was placed in a GENERAL ENGLISH class instead of the TOEFL class!!!! The class was already existing, not a new one as I was assured before leaving, with a very basic level of English and a teacher, who didn’t even introduce herself to the new students but just started the lesson as if nothing was wrong. When I asked for an explanation from the Director and the Academic Manager of Kaplan Seattle, I was told that because they hadn’t reached the minimum number of students for the TOEFL class, they had to place me in the GENERAL ENGLISH class!!! This completely disrupted all my plans and academic goals due to the incompetence of this school. I requested an immediate refund to have the necessary funds to enroll in another school, and after being assured that they would refund me within the week as an "apology," they refunded me only after 40 days, just before my return to Italy. As a result, I came home without having achieved any of my goals. THIS SCHOOL SHOULD CLOSE due to its lack of ethics and the absolutely incompetent staff in teaching English.

Experiencia negativa: I’m furious with Kaplan School in Seattle. My partner traveled from overseas, and I paid for a TOEFL preparation course, but she was placed in a general English course instead. This course was cheaper and completely inadequate. Despite promises of a full refund, the process has been incredibly slow. This has disrupted her academic plans and resulted in wasted travel costs. Avoid them if you value your time and money.

Experiencia fantástica: This is the nicest place for improving english skills! Teachers are friends of the students. And, we can learn about city, culture and history in English. There are many many fun activities like a hiking, walking around, going libraries! It is super effective for learning english. If you wanna improve your skills, kaplan is a best choice!!!

Experiencia positiva: Hola realice un curso de dos semanas, fue una experiencia muy bonita, hace mucho que no estudiaba y volver hacerlo sobretodo estudiar inglés me volvió a motivarme a seguir formándome, la academia está muy bien, la escuela es cómoda y la atención del personal es muy buena, mi profesora Camille fue muy agradable e hizo que las clases fueran divertidas. En cuanto a la enseñanza aprendí mucha pronunciación y volví a recordar la gramática que había aprendido en el instituto ya que mi nivel era intermedio, espero poder regresar y aumentar de nivel !!!

Experiencia negativa: Por razones de fuerza mayor no pude iniciar a estudiar envie toda la documentación necesaria y nunca recibi el reembolso. Despues de mas de 6 meses de espera sigo enviando correos sin respuestas. Fueron muy pronto para pedirme hacer el pago el pago inicial pero no para resolver mis dudas o ayudarme a gestionar antes de iniciar clases

Experiencia fantástica: I stayed in Kaplan for 5 months. I improved my English a lot. In Amanda’s class, she always design questions for students to discuss. Now I can speak English and understand what American said because of these training. I also learn a lot in Bill’s grammar and conversation. In the beginning , I can’t understand what American said because their converse speed is so fast that I cannot understand. Due to Bill’s passion and extra training. I can appropriate use American English . I think I have a huge improved in my English ability in this school. This 5 months would be my precious time to understand general English. I will recommend this school to my young generation who need to improved general English. This is the best language school I have ever studied.

I learned so many things, not only improving my English, but also how to deal with challenges and difficulties. All I can say is that this is the best school I've ever been to! Experiencia fantástica: Update: They said they improved it afterwards. Nice that they have the attitude to care about customer feelings. —— I could give it a five star if they can remove the dustbin at the entrance on the first floor. It is so smelly and full of mosquitoes and flies. It s unbelievably disgusting. But you can't avoid it because that is the only entrance. It makes going to kaplan miserable because you need to worry about the mosquitoes when you are waiting for the elevator and bear the bad smell.

Experiencia fantástica: I was in Seattle for 8 months. Today I can say that I chose the right place to achieve the purpose proposed to improve my English. I want to say thank you to the fabulous Kaplan team, my teachers and the administrative team for all the support. I created a friendship relationship that allowed me to enjoy every activity designed to strengthen and boost my communication skills. This opportunity taught me that you can only exceed your limits when you decide to do what you really want it. I learned more than a language, now I can know more about myself and about every beautiful culture I met through my friends from around the world. Experiencia fantástica: I had the opportunity to travel to Seattle to learn English and ended up here in Kaplan, what I love the most of this place is the people I met and the atmosphere, also the activities they have. I had a bad experience with their home stay so recommend staying somewhere else.

Experiencia negativa: If you don't understand English they are gonna yell at you especially the fat blonde lady with glasses at the office. I wish I could remember her name but I think I heard she got married to Korean guy. That's all I remember about her . I studied there in 2012. I would never recommend this place to anybody .

Experiencia positiva: A escola tem um ambiente muito agradável. Estudantes de vários lugares do mundo especialmente asiáticos. Está localizado no centro de Seattle, bem perto da praia onde tem a roda gigante. Um excelente local e fácil acesso de ônibus ou metrô. O método de ensino, na minha visão, não foi dos melhores. Embora minha professora tenha sido excelente e muito querida. Fiz muitos amigos queridos nesse escola.

The instructors really care and put so much of themselves into making sure their students succeed and have a firm grip of the material. I would highly recommend this location to anyone looking to get the leg up in their next stage of life learning and development. Thank you Kaplan!
