Sepia Language Study

Fantastic experience: I have been at Sepia Language School for approximately 8 months now taking Spanish with Chelsi Milsted. I can’t say enough wonderful things about her the school and the entire staff! My Spanish has come along way and I will absolutely go until I’m finished with Spanish and possibly another language with Sepia!! Truly the funnest most amazing adventure for me!

Fantastic experience: I had been learning french on my own for years but realized that in order to make significant progress, I needed to take it to the next level if I was going to achieve my goal of reasonable fluency. Earlier this year I found Sepia Language Study and scheduled an online assessment with Chelsi, the French instructor and owner of the school. The assessment was a fun experience and Chelsi zeroed in on my skill level very quickly and accurately. I have been taking classes since then, and I am very impressed at how Chelsi always makes classes fun while covering the material. Whenever I have a question, I am provided with a very clear and detailed answer, which gets me excited about learning even more because it lifts the shroud of mystery that you need to get through to be comfortable with the language. I highly recommend the conversation classes in addition to the group classes. I find making conversation in my target language very stressful, but the conversation classes have quickly built up my confidence. I chose Sepia for the in-person experience, and classes can be attended remotely as well. I highly recommend this school to anyone wanting to learn a foreign language!

Fantastic experience: Sepia Language Study has such a wonderful community of students and instructors! I’ve learned more in half a semester of beginning classes than I ever have trying to learn through years of language apps. There are classes and certification programs but also drop-in workshops, game and activity nights and events that are so much fun and full of learning

Fantastic experience: Sepia has made learning Spanish feel feasible! The consistent class schedule but flexible nature of the homework and practice has made weaving it into my weekly routine seamless and given me the time to practice Spanish. Chelsi and her team are great at what they do!

Fantastic experience: I've been studying at Sepia Language Study for nearly two years now, and I absolutely love it. I'm currently learning Spanish with Chelsi, and it's been an incredibly rewarding experience. What I really appreciate is the flexibility of the program, you can choose a more structured path with tests and formal lessons, or take a more relaxed approach like I have. No pressure, no intimidating exams. Just a group of adults who genuinely want to learn. Over time, classmates have become friends, and the learning environment feels supportive and fun. Fantastic experience: I’ve been attending Sepia Language School for about a year and started in French 1 group lessons. Since then, I’ve progressed through French 2 and French 3 with Chelsi, and I’m now taking private lessons with her as I prepare for Intermediate French. I recently visited France and felt confident handling simple conversations and transactions entirely in French. Chelsi is incredibly smart, knowledgeable, and supportive, and she makes learning both fun and effective. I highly recommend Sepia Language School to anyone looking to learn French!

Fantastic experience: Completed the 4 weeks 'Intro to Linguistics' course with Chelsi. Chelsi is extremely knowledgeable in her fields and made learning a lot of fun. There is even homework and a quiz to test your understanding which I really enjoyed and found helpful as a recap, but there is absolutely no pressure to complete these. In a nutshell - I learned a lot, had fun, and thought it was great value for money. The school itself is situated in a lovely building with a welcoming atmosphere. I’ll be back soon to enroll onto a language course. Highly recommend!

Fantastic experience: This is a great small group language learning experience. Classes adapt to the students and the teachers use many approaches to help students learn. Many conversation opportunities are also provided outside of the classes to practice.

Fantastic experience: Bonjour! Chelsi est une professeure spectaculaire! Having in-person classes makes all the difference to correct your pronunciation, and grammar, in real time. Chelsi’ years of teaching provide lots of interactive options to engage the adult learner. Her positive, creative energy makes learning a new language fun! I highly recommend Sepia Language Program for learning French or Spanish.

Fantastic experience: Comfortable in-person space for learning a new language. Virtual option allows for flexibility to attend the same class online. Chelsi is interactive and creative with learning, she is kind and easy-going. Literally wouldn’t change anything, highly recommended.

Fantastic experience: We have been very happy with Sepia Language Study. They created a class specifically for kids post elementary who were in a dual language class to help them keep their skills up. My son has really enjoyed each week. He is feeling more confident speaking the language which he's always struggled with. Thank you! Highly recommend.

Fantastic experience: I love that Sepia is filling the need for ongoing Spanish post elementary dual language programs in the Vancouver community. Sepia keeps their class size small, my son has enjoyed being able to continue to use his non native language he acquired in elementary school with peers of similar skill level.

Fantastic experience: I am currently taking Beginning French 1 asynchronous class online at Sepia Language Study. I love it so far! I do not live in Vancouver, so it works great for my schedule to be able to do the lessons when it works best for me each week. I am finding the lessons clear and easy to follow, and the activities and handouts are helpful and fun too! The instructor is very good at responding quickly to any questions, and very encouraging and uplifting about your progress through any submitted homework or suggested practice. I am looking forward to joining the study abroad trips as well! I highly recommend Sepia Language Study to anyone of any age who wants to learn a language. I am enjoying it so much, I am thinking about adding another one!

Fantastic experience: Very grateful to Chelsi for her knowledge, instruction, patience, and keeping me motivated to improve my Spanish skills! The small groups and scheduled classes hold me accountable in ways I can't do on my own and it's great to review grammar in a more formal way while also practicing conversation. Living outside of Vancouver, I appreciate having online options and all the tech/planning that goes into doing hybrid classes. I'm currently in my third class with Sepia and plan on attending more! Fantastic experience: If you're looking to improve in a language, this is the spot! I've been working independently on improving my Spanish speaking abilities for quite some time, but there is nothing like having a knowledgeable instructor and structured instruction/practice. I've been so impressed with the value and quality of the lessons so far. Chelsi does a fantastic job making the lessons engaging and tailored to students' needs. I'm so happy I signed up!

Fantastic experience: So nice to have a language school here in Vancouver. Lovely instructor who clearly loves teaching. Lessons are well paced for adults that need to balance other commitments, however, Chelsi provides a number of ways to practice outside of the classroom if one would like to go deeper.
