Fantastic experience: Bill takes a unique and fun approach to teaching which I find incredibly effective. Bill is incredibly reliable, diligent and supportive. He also made mutual expectations very clear right off the bat and offered a trial lesson to ensure that the fit was right. I had lost a lot of my basic language skills and Bill has helped "dust off the cobwebs" as well as reframe concepts for me and teach me new concepts in a way that really sticks. Five months on, I highly recommend his language classes to anyone who is willing to put in the effort.

From the first lesson its very clear to see that Bill is extremely passionate about the language, culture, and history of Italy and that enthusiasm is contagious. Fantastic experience: When I first signed up for French lessons with Bill, I expected the usual drills and vocabulary lists. Instead, I found myself translating quite quickly and speaking a simple version of the language quite quickly. They have a gift for making you forget you’re “in class” while subtly pushing you to improve. Learning French now feels less like studying and more like unlocking a new way to see the world and communicate with my wife in her native toungue. I know for a fact that these skills will also apply to his Italian classes.

He's helped me undo bad habits from my years of middle/high school French, clarifying and describing base ideas so as to actually create a comprehension of the language for me, not just a surface-level placebo for travel conversation. He teaches both me and my mom - she was an absolute beginner and I have had several years of language learning in my past. Fantastic experience: I have been taking lessons with Bill for awhile now and have had an awesome time! He has a very organized approach that makes learning easy. This is NOT structured like your typical language course where you receive vocabulary lists to memorize or are spoon fed useless (for a beginner) knowledge like learning “household items” or “names of fruits and vegetables”. There is no fluff - he gets straight to the point and gets you speaking as fast as possible. The lessons are tailored to you and he is always checking in to make sure you’re comfortable with the pace. I have taken many, many language lessons in my life with many different teachers and this is by far the best experience I’ve had. He not only teaches you the material but also sometimes gives a little linguistic history lesson as well that allows you to notice patterns within and between languages that makes learning easier. Fantastic experience: Ciao! Come state ? Italian is pretty cool I must say. I had initially went to Bill to learn French and that turned out to be such an informative and incredible experience that once I became comfortable especially in “le subjonctif” I got the itch to turn my sights towards Italian since I knew he also taught that as well. The thing I’ve learned about educators is that you can tell when they truly love what they teach versus ones who go just through the motions. Bill loves what he does and it grew in me a love for two languages that I didn’t know I had. Also, he doesn’t just teach you textbook Italian but also legitimate conversational Italian that you’ll hear/need/use in your travels. It’s taught in a way so you can hit the ground running when you visit Italy and he also breaks it down in a way so that you can be really self teaching in being able to form your own natural thoughts in a new language! Also, I really appreciate the little anecdotes of history behind why things are the way they are which makes the experience not only enjoyable but really interesting. Italian is a beautiful auditory experience once you get the hang of it and I already feel like I’ve come quite a ways and I’m truly proud of myself and excited for what’s still to come! It’s a beautiful language to learn and I highly recommend Bill without question.
