Fantastic experience: I’m halfway through my first class with the academy and I have been so impressed with the structure and quality of the material and the opportunity to practice my focus language in unique and relevant ways! I absolutely plan to continue my Spanish education with the academy, and I couldn’t recommend the experience enough for anyone interested in learning a second language!

Fantastic experience: I’m wrapping up my fourth in-person Spanish class at the Language Academy of the Carolinas, and it’s been a fantastic experience from start to finish. I’ve stayed with the same teacher, Tulio, and group of classmates, which made learning even more enjoyable as we’ve built real connections along the way. The curriculum is solid, and I really appreciate how Bruna (the office manager) and Craig (the owner) go above and beyond to be flexible and supportive, something that’s especially important for adult learners. If you’re considering learning Spanish or another language, I highly recommend this language school! They make the process easy, engaging, and effective. I’ve referred several friends here, and they’ve all had wonderful experiences too.

Fantastic experience: This place it’s amazing and it’s perfect for learning a new language. Bruna warmly welcomed us to the academy which made us feel comfortable to start a new learning adventure. My husband Juan and I are taking Italian lessons together with Professor Ornella and it’s been a wonderful experience. Professor Ornella explains all topics thoroughly and provides multiple examples for us to understand, also she is very kind and funny which makes the lesson pleasant and fun! We recommend this place 100%

Fantastic experience: Ornella is a great teacher for Italian. I am at a more-than-basic level, but she is incredibly patient and rather generous with her compliments! Trying to a learn a new language as an adult is no easy task (for me), but she really helps you along the way! I recommend signing up for Italian with Ornella if you have any desire to do so.

Fantastic experience: I completed Spanish Level 1 with Tulio Lopez and Italian Level 1 with Ornella Dessi. Both teachers are excellent and I look forward to continuing my language lessons with them! I tried to learn both languages with Duolingo, but was missing helpful background information such as genders and shifting tenses that these instructors provided. Also, both instructors (and my classmates) were incredibly pleasant to spend one day each week with.

Fantastic experience: Wonderful experience after taking three classes in a row here. I've stayed with the same teacher and most of the same classmates the whole time which has been really helpful. In-person classes have been small 4-6 person classes. I've seen a few different professors and tried a remote class, but I highly recommend going in person since it is a lot more collaborative (folks on Zoom can more easily turn their cameras off and not volunteer). I really appreciate how the academy's prices haven't changed forever, and how flexible they are about make-up classes if you ever need to miss a session. My wife and her family speak Spanish, so I'm already exposed to the language semi-regularly, but I still saw a remarkable difference in my vocabulary and listening skills over the course of this class, especially by going with a teacher who does the entire class in Spanish - just my preference, but I did attend a couple makeup sessions where some of the class was explained in English, and I noticed the students therein seemed less confident in speaking and listening, so I'd recommend asking about different professors teaching your level/language at a given time to find the best fit for you. Highly recommend!

Fantastic experience—and ultimately, a better deal than the online platforms, where I found so many limitations, hidden charges, inconsistence in platform functionality. Ornella was always very prepared to concentrate every minute of class time. She was organized, and gave ample, interactive homework assignments. She was also very positive, supportive and encouraging. Italian cheerleader!!

Fantastic experience: I have had the pleasure of taking Spanish classes at The Language Academy for the past 6 months. I absolutely love the in person small group format. I have learned so much and improved my Spanish more than ever before (I took classes in High School and College but never felt like it really stuck). My teacher Agnes, a native Spanish speaker, is fun, engaging, and knowledgeable. The classes really support language learning in all areas reading, writing, speaking and listening. I can't recommend this school enough!

Fantastic experience: Learning a new language can be challenging, but everyone at the Language Academy is incredibly supportive. They never make me feel bad for mispronouncing words or needing to hear questions repeated in English or slowly in Spanish. I’ve truly enjoyed my classes here. The staff and teachers are amazing—they’re patient, encouraging, and flexible, making it easy to fit Spanish lessons into my busy schedule. Highly recommend!

Fantastic experience: I thoroughly enjoyed participating in the online Italian class (Level 1) through The Language Academy of the Carolinas. There is nothing like learning a language with a native speaker! Giada is extremely personable and was great at keeping the 2-hour class flowing and engaging each member of our group. Fantastic experience: Duolingo only takes you so far. I really am enjoying learning spanish in a small group setting. It's more interactive and conversational than the spanish i took in high school. Pam is a great teacher! The class is perfect for travelers

I am able to read and write German not so bad and I am able to watch German shows on MHZ International and get most of it without reading the subtitles. I liked the social interaction that we had in the classes. I would recommend these classes to anyone interested in learning German.

Fantastic experience: I really liked my German teacher here! The class help me prep for living in Austria for the summer. They were very practical. I heard recently that there were some negative reviews left about the Language Academy from someone who didn’t even take classes here. How unfortunate!

I learned so much and I’ve recommended this org to my family and friends as the language programs are a great value and the travel associated with learning is excellently planned.

Fantastic experience: I have been using the Language Academy for all of my official document translation needs for nearly a decade. They are my go to for any certified work! They are quick to reply and their turn around time is wonderful! After some time, I began looking into the language programs with the Language Academy and have since taken German courses from beginning all the way to fluency. My daughter has also gone through the Language Academy's Chinese classes. Communication with Craig and Rodrigo is also wonderful! They are helpful and accommodating. I can't imagine anyone having a terrible experience with them!

Fantastic experience: I have taken several classes with the Language Academy and have loved all of them. The curriculum is well thought out and planned. I have even taken a class with zoom and that went very smoothly also. The teachers are great and very willing to try and help out when you miss a class. They will do everything possible to try and get you in a makeup class or even help you one on one when they can. I can’t imagine taking a class anywhere else.

The teachers and instruction are great and they have helped me keep my French speaking skills active and current. The teachers are very engaging and include each student in the classroom conversation which allows us all to feel welcome in the group. I look forward to enrolling again. Having the option of multiple locations that are both convenient to where I live help to allow more chances for a course to be available to my schedule.

The owner Craig Snyder and Rodrigo Rion, have built a business that attracts professional instructors from all over the world. For the adult learner who wants or needs to learn a foreign language this is the place! I studied there on and off for several years and it was everything I expected and needed.

Fantastic experience: My husband and I have taken German classes through The Language Academy of The Carolinas. We have utilized different formats (group, individual and even virtual), and have had a few different instructors. All of our experiences have been great. The management and staff really care about the students and their experience. Learning a language here is truly a unique and enjoyable experience.

Fantastic experience: I have taken Portuguese 1-3 and am currently in Spanish 8 at the academy. I really enjoy the people who work here and the instructors. I have learned enough portuguese to understand about 60% of what my boyfriend’s parents say (Brazilian portuguese) and am refreshing my Spanish in a safe environment. They are very communicative and respond quickly when I have any questions inside and outside of classes. I really like that they bring music, reading, and presentations into class because those are all great ways to actually learn a language. They’ve all been wonderful to work with, and I like the flexibility to take classes online

Fantastic experience: I have taken 2 different Spanish language class at the Plaza Midwood location and 1 Class prior to those at a different location. All three times, the teachers were professional, kind and encouraging. While I am not bilingual, I can confidently engage in a conversation with a native Spanish speaker, assist a Spanish speaker who does not speak any English and be understood. I am even frequently asked if I am bilingual! All thanks to the systematic language program at The Language Academy of the Carolinas. Highly recommended!

Fantastic experience: I’ve taken Spanish classes with Language Academy of the Carolinas for 3 or 4 years now! I started in level 3 and worked all the way through level 13 and into advanced conversations level 2. I cannot say enough good things! The teachers are the very best and the material makes it easy to understand. The focus on actually practicing speaking made the biggest difference for me and is it a fun, pressure free atmosphere. They are very helpful with helping find the right class level and best option for you! Highly recommend, it was worth every penny and hour spent!
