Negative experience: Whatever negatives are being said here are ABSOLUTELY true. If you truly want and need to learn an English, STAY away from this scam! There are no English classes at all, people working here including so called TEACHERS are uneducated with absolutely no knowledge of how to teach any English. Instead of teaching and explaining the grammar these teachers are taking students to science museum where YOU will have to pay an entrance fee to walk by yourself, play GUESS what it is games entire 4 hours when students draw pics and other students are suppose to guess what it is, today teacher is teaching DANCE steps and you can clearly see total anarchy where other students are the entire day on their phones!!! Lot of money fir absolutely no results!!! We will file a complain with BBB as well as make sure the world about this schem school spreads across the net and social media so others won't get scammed as well!!!

Negative experience: I had been a loyal student at OHLA and appreciated the quality of education and friendly atmosphere throughout my studies. However, I was extremely disappointed with how my situation was handled when I had to withdraw due to a serious and unforeseen work-related emergency. Despite my long-term commitment and clear explanation of the force majeure, I was charged a $995 cancellation fee without prior notice or my explicit approval. I find this approach unreasonably strict and lacking basic empathy, especially toward a student who consistently attended and supported the school. This experience has left a very negative impression, and I sincerely hope OHLA will reconsider its rigid and overly corporate cancellation policy in the future.

Negative experience: OHLA Institute After spending time studying at OHLA, I feel responsible to share my honest experience to help others avoid the same mistake. This institute is not worth your time or money — and here’s why: Major Issues with OHLA: 1. Unfair and Biased Environment: The majority of students at OHLA are Spanish speakers, and the school clearly favors them. There’s noticeable discrimination — students from other nationalities, especially Saudis, don’t receive the same level of attention or support. You’ll feel like an outsider in your own classroom. 2. Poor Teaching Quality: Most teachers are not native Americans. Only one or two are American, and the rest are difficult to understand — especially if you’re a beginner. Their teaching methods are weak and unhelpful. They focus more on finishing the syllabus than actually making sure students understand. 3. It’s All About the Money: OHLA is a money-driven business, not a real educational institution. They care more about enrollment numbers than real progress. Once you pay, don’t expect support, follow-up, or personal development. Everything is about profit — not learning. 4. No Real Improvement: Many students — including myself — spent months there without improving our English. The environment doesn’t help, the lessons are ineffective, and the system is completely disorganized. ⸻ My Advice: If you’re serious about learning English, stay away from OHLA. Look for a school that has qualified teachers, a diverse environment, and real dedication to student success. Don’t waste your time and money on a place that only wants your tuition and gives nothing in return.

Negative experience: From an academic standpoint, OHLA is unsuitable and operates primarily as a commercial institution rather than an educational one. It fails to provide an effective environment for learning the English language. Several instructors do not demonstrate the expected level of professionalism; they frequently speak Spanish with Latin American students, disregarding the importance of maintaining an English-only environment. Instead of encouraging students to practice and improve their English skills, instructors often rely on unrelated YouTube videos and games that offer no academic value and are seemingly used just to pass the time. Furthermore, it is evident that many students at this institute are enrolled mainly for the purpose of obtaining a Green Card, rather than for genuine educational advancement. This assessment is based on the experience of an individual holding a Master’s degree in English with a specialization in Applied Linguistics.

Negative experience: They charge registration fees to people who want to start from the first level because the lowest level will be opened. They take the exam and place them in the second level even though they see that it is the first level. Then when the students say that it is not suitable for their level, they direct them to take private lessons. Then they tell them to wait for months for the first level to open. They do not give the registration fee even though it is their own mistake, even though they do not provide any training. They are practically deceiving people. Do not believe it at all. They do nothing but steal people's money and time!!!!!

This is speaking class that is every Friday and I like it from day one. Teachers are great, atmosphere are very friendly, everybody in this school has one goal to improve their level of English. After graduating this school, you can enter to a lot of universities without even passing a toefel exam.

Negative experience: They told me a different price because I reserved the course with an agency. When I had discovered that the price was much higher with the agency, I argued with the agency because the agency told me “the price is the same” and actually the price in the page and the price that they gived to me was the same, but if you call the school, they gived fewer price. My problem initially was with the agency, but then the school sent a email to me that cheated on me and said that the person that gived the list of the price had a mistake and told me lies about that. Even I looked all the evidence, of course when I studied with them I also asked other students and again proveed that they cheated on me

Negative experience: I am very disappointed in this school. The management forces the instructors to move the students through the book levels no matter what. It is literally a factory of getting students through their program. I am a first generation immigrant who sought out a school that I thought would best teach me the English language and American culture, unfortunately OHLA didn't meet those standards. They only care about if you show up to class on time so they avoid harrassment from Immigration services. They literally could care less what you learn and any of the instructors who go outside their agenda are not renewed for next semester. I seriously would not recommend anyone attend this school if they value their money and education.

Fantastic experience: I am participating in the OHLA high school program and for that we had until now two orientation weeks.With OHLA we made a lot of trips in the Miami area and even further. These trips were not only great fun because of the unforgettable activities and experiences but also because of the extremely nice people we met and the great new friends we made. In addition to that I already notice that my fluency in the English language has improved passed the two last weeks. Now I am so excited to go on and start school. ; -)

Fantastic experience: I'm 29, it is suppose that an English school is fully of only young guys. This one isn't an exception but there are also guys that are working and come there to refresh their English. I really like the instruction received there, during the week is very similar to the education that you can receive at a normal school, but on Friday the school is open to other people from the interland and the lessons have very varied topics, in this moment you can meet people with an high level of English. Not all the teachers are from us but, in any case, they are very professional, I really appreciated the lessons of Areli. The activities for the students organized by the school aren't so much, but I appreciate the help of Fabian, the activity director, in the organization of my private trips. I appreciated how the direction follow the students, Lisa is very gentle and fast to answer to my emails. The residents of the residence are usually younger than me, in any case it is easy to find friends among them. The cleaning service is very good.
