Experiencia fantástica: Had an amazing three-month experience at The Language Academy! As a university professor from Brazil, I came to Fort Lauderdale to improve my English, and this school exceeded all my expectations. The teachers are incredible, the staff is very supportive, and the communication is always clear and welcoming. I loved the flexibility—there’s no fixed start date—and the school offers several types of courses for different needs. The infrastructure is excellent as well. I learned so much in such a short time and definitely plan to come back. Highly recommended!

Experiencia positiva: I've booked a two-week Business English/General English course through "helfen & lernen" and attended the course at TLA. My overall rating is mixed: the teacher quality was superb, but the planned curriculum was significantly undermined by the timing. After taking a 100-question placement test on a tablet, we were assigned to the appropriate class. The first week's lessons were well-structured, involving work in a workbook (e.g., grammar) and more creative exercises (e.g., writing stories). Our teacher, Shelby, was truly excellent — always nice, patient, and incredibly helpful. She is a real asset to the school. Unfortunately, our second week coincided exactly with Halloween week. The school pivoted almost entirely to this seasonal theme. We learned specific Halloween vocabulary, built a Halloween creature from recycled materials, and had to carve a pumpkin. The final day involved presentations and a costume competition. This Halloween programming took up nearly half of our second week and felt like wasted learning time and wasted money. Thankfully, Shelby quickly realized our class was not interested in the crafting and used every possible minute outside of the mandatory activities for actual English lessons. One other negative point was the infrastructure: the air conditioning in our classroom didn't work half the time, making it extremely hot. For information about parking: you can easily park your car at the Governmental parking garage - 5 min to walk to the school and it costs 2$ for the first hour and 1$ for every additional hour. If it hadn't been Halloween week, I would have rated 4 stars. With working AC, it would have been 5 stars.

Experiencia positiva: I attended TLA for two weeks as part of my German "Bildungsurlaub" (educational leave). I enrolled in the Business English/General English course and was surprised that the second week was almost entirely focused on Halloween activities such as pumpkin carving and a costume contest — not quite what I expected from a business English program. These activities took up a significant portion of class time that I would have preferred to spend on learning new vocabulary or grammar (history of Halloween would have been fine, but not 2 hours of costume contest and prizes). Our teacher, Shelby, did an excellent job and made the most of the two weeks. The school is conveniently located in downtown. The air conditioning didn’t work during the first week, and while the overall organization was good, we had to wait an extra half hour on the last day because our certificates hadn’t been prepared.

Сначала они назначают время для "пробного урока" потом отменяют, ссылаясь на то, что технический сбой. Потом они советуют подождать. Через несколько дней заявляют что график недоучителя пополнен. И уже через несколько дней заявляют, что никаких уроков мы не преподаем. Что интересно, за все время ссылаются на оплату. Деньги для меня не проблема, но хорошо что не поддавался таким мошенникам. Вам тоже крайне советую держаться подальше.

The school is great, the teachers and resources are excellent, they really care about helping you make the most of your experience and solving any problems you may have, whether it's with accommodation, English level or any other inconvenience… Very attentive and proactive. I've been here for 5 weeks, I'll be here for another 3 and I'm already thinking about adding one more. I've met people from all over the world, made great friends, improved my English and I'm sure I'll take it with me for life. Thanks TLA!! ;)

Experiencia fantástica: Die TLA ist sehr zu empfehlen. Der Cambridge Vorbereitungskurs hat mich bestens auf die anschliessende Diplomprüfung vorbereitet. Die Angestellten und Lehrpersonen sind sehr freundlich und der Direktor ist sehr zuvorkommend. Die Schule würde ich vor allem denen empfehlen, die ein bereits vorhandenes Englisch-Grundwissen verbessern wollen (Cambridge-Diplom, Business-Kurs, etc.).

Experiencia positiva: Pague 8 semanas, no vivo en EEUU, planifique mi estadía solo por estudios (visa de turista). Pude ver en 5 semanas que cambiaban de grupo a estudiantes según la conveniencia de la academia, personas con visa de estudiantes que se quedan largas estadías o viven en EEUU. Mi sorpresa fue en la semana 6 cuando me cambiaron de grupo, a uno que repetía una lección que yo tuve 2 semanas atrás, no es lo que esperaba (repetir lecciones en mis últimas tres semanas cuando sentía un avance en mi grupo con libro nuevo). Pero lo triste fue recibir tan mala respuesta del señor Pinna y su hermana, al pedir solución me trataron mal, me devolvieron el dinero de las tres semanas pendientes (Valeria hasta me dijo que tenía que dejar el país ), me fui a despedir de mi maestra y compañeros y Valeria me saco del lugar de forma grosera. Todo fue muy triste, algunos tenemos más dificultad para pagar cursos tan caros, pero todos somos iguales y tenemos los mismos derechos. Es una pena que los dueños sean tan groseros y con 0 empatía, cuando tienen una academia muy linda y súper buena maestra (Lisa).

Experiencia fantástica: I can highly recommend TLA. I was warmly welcomed by all the staff and felt very comfortable. I took the Business English course and benefited a lot from it. There was a lot of room to discuss current topics and also learn a lot about American culture. The teachers were very accommodating, competent and very well prepared. My highlights were the individual lessons with Gabriela. She conveys the teaching content with a lot of heart and commitment. Her lessons are focused and effective.

Gabriela was a very sympathetic person and she had a genial disposition which perfectly suited to my son. She held the private lessons with a lot of motivation. I attended a Platinum course in the classes of Joseph and Adam and I was also very satisfied. My son and I would visit this school again immediately. All the employees of the school were very nice and took care of us. Thank you very much for everything.

Experiencia negativa: Essa escola provavelmente é pra quem já tem conhecimento no inglês e apenas quer aprimorar, porque pra quem está iniciando é péssimo. Não tem nenhuma explicação sobre a matéria, apenas te mandam fazer exercícios sozinha, você tem que descobrir tudo sozinha ou usar o tradutor. Eu procurei uma escola porque gostaria de ter aulas e aprender o idioma, não preciso pagar pra descobrir sozinha como se faz os exercícios do livro. Pior que nem reembolso eles dão, se você quiser insistir em fazer aula pelo menos peça pra fazer uma aula experimental.

Experiencia negativa: What a horrible experience!! I visited TLA today to inquire about their French classes and I was directed to Georgenne Hart. She’s the academy director, and I strongly believe this lady shouldn’t be working in the education field. What a low class, unprofessional lady!! She was very mean and questioned several times the reason why I wanted to learn French. Really? Why do you offer classes if you’re going to make people feel guilty for wanting to learn another language? She was extremely rude!! I have never felt so discriminated against in my entire life, She even asked if I was legal in this country! Seriously?? She made me seat in a waiting area where they have a sign saying the following: “This lovely, comfortable sofas are for English speakers ONLY” What kind of place is this? Do yourself a favor!! Stay away from this academy and this obnoxious lady.

The financial sector has no control and will charge you for days that you have already paid. The rooms are very crowded and you will have a terrible experience. Look for another English school.

Experiencia negativa: I went to TLA for four weeks and I suggest you to not to go there in first because I wanted to go to another building where the classes would have been more difficult, but in the opinion of the director or I don’t know who it would have been better for me to go to the junior classes. The test is too difficult and the level of the classes is really low. I wanted to change class and when I went to one person of the staff, she made me feel stupid telling me that in the class I would have done many others grammar stuff but instead I didn’t do anything . The teachers are really friendly but not them all have an adeguate level to teach. I wouldn’t suggest this school to anybody

Questa cosa mi è stata negata per qualche strana ragione che ancora non sono riuscita a capire. Parlando dei professori sono molto qualificati, ma se dovessi analizzare dettagliatamente il percorso intero, non raccomanderei mai a nessuno questa scuola. Lo staff è a due poco gentile e cordiale, non si preoccupa di te e di quello che fai e concedono poche cose. Complessivamente ho frequentato scuole meno costose e di livello maggiormente più alto

Experiencia fantástica: Hi,I'm a teacher of English In Bucharest,Romania and I spent two weeks with my students in the TLA program.I want to express my heartfelt thanks to Valeria and Marco Pinna and Brian Mauk.This is letter penned by one of my students,a review of the time spent there. "The TLA Ft.Lauderdale program surpassed all our expectations!It proved to be a unique and unforgettable experience! The joy and enthusiasm we felt even from the first moments we stepped on the American soil in Miami Airport were enhanced when we laid eyes on the beautiful hotel that was going to be our base and shelter for the next two weeks.After a short rest,our greatest adventure began! We started the first day with excitement because we had a test which was going to distribute us in groups,but once we finished it,we breathed a sigh of relief and we went on a tour in Downtown Ft.Lauderdale.We had the pleasure of visiting the TLA headquarters and to meet and talk to its Chairman,Mr.Maco Pinna. The next day we met our colleagues of different nationalities,Italian,French,Serbian,Russian,etc,also our teachers,and we started studying.The classes were as much fun as they were educational,thanks to the teachers who managed to create a wonderful atmosphere,being really professional and at the same time treating us as their friends and making us enjoy everything.After lunch at the restaurant catering the school,we went on a lot of trips which made us more appreciative of our experience. On the first days we had the chance to go to the beaches in Ft.Lauderdale,Miami South Beach and Palm Beach,where we worked on our tan in the hot Florida sun and we swam in the clear waters of the Atlantic Ocean.The cruises we took on the canals and in Miami were a great opportunity to admire the celebrities' houses and yachts,and we took memorable pictures. We also went to an authentic baseball game on Miami Stadium.Even if we weren't real Marlins fans,we bought caps and T-shirts from the stadium shops and we wore them during the game. During the weekend we had the chance to return to childhood,going on a trip to Universal Studios Orlando where we had fun visiting the magical places of "The Islands of Adventure". All our tiredness disappeared when we went on a wonderful tour of Miami.First we stopped at Wynwood,where we took pictures of the impressive graffiti,then we went to Little Havana,the Latino quarter which amused us with its music and entertainment.At the end of the day we had dinner at the famous Miami Hard Rock Cafe,which we enjoyed very much. The second week began with a trip to NASA,where we were lucky to watch a rocket launch,then we watched a 3D movie about the Mars mission at IMax. The trip to the Everglades took a lot of courage because we went on airboats on the river full of alligators and snakes and we even took pictures of us holding an alligator.. We couldn't conclude our trips without a visit to the biggest Mall of America,Sawgrass Mills and also at Galleria Mall.This was the perfect opportunity for us to buy souvenirs for our family. The last school day was very emotional,because we realized that the moment for departure was coming and we had to say goodbye to our new friends,but we tried to get over it by taking pictures and by writing beautiful messages.Even the teachers were emotional when they said goodbye,so we made sure we would keep in touch by Facebook,Instagram,email and phone.We ended the day with a Pool Party. In a nutshell,this Summer Program will forever stay in our heart.We made friend which not even the thousand miles distances could break up,and we had an experience which only the Miami area could offer. Experiencia fantástica: Ho frequentato la TLA di Fort Lauderdale per ben due volte ed il mio giudizio è positivissimo! Mi sono trovata molto bene con gli insegnanti che sono davvero competenti! La location è accogliente e si trova downtown vicino al Museum of Art. Inoltre, durante il tempo libero, ho partecipato ad escursioni organizzate dalla TLA. Concludo segnalando le bellissime spiagge di FL che fanno da cornice ad una vacanza-studio fantastica!

J'ai fait d'énorme progrès, sans avoir l'impression de trop bosser, car les cours sont vraiment ludiques et intéressants.
