Experiencia positiva: I would love to take a language class here. After several phone calls, voice messages and emails, no one has gotten back to me. I understand being busy. I hope someone can take the time to respond to my inquiries about upcoming Korean 101 classes. I’ll gladly update my review if this matter is resolved. Update 5/17: A member of the AIL did reach out to me with information for their upcoming Korean 101 classes. I have updated my review from 1 star to 3 stars. I understand that situations happen and a lot of them are outside of our control. Although I understand, that does not negate how the situation was handled with customers like myself. This is why I did not provide 5 stars. I would recommend something like this be considered in risk planning to mitigate the impact on customers and on the business. As someone who recently earned my PMP, I’m more than happy to help.

Experiencia fantástica: I began taking private lessons in Portuguese with Lincoln de Oliveira, the owner of Atlanta Institute of Language, prior to two visits I took to Brazil over ten years ago. I have since continued with the school by participating in group level classes and am currently enrolled in group classes at the business level. I am now proud to say I'm far along to fluency.

Experiencia negativa: I have not been impressed with how Lincoln or the school conducts business.  I find that Lincoln is rude to the students and VERY rude to the instructors and employees.  I do not like the way he speaks to them or treats them--especially in front of students.  It makes for a very uncomfortable situation as a student to be present for the degrading way Lincoln treats everyone who works for him.  "If you want to know what a man's like, take a good look at how he treats his inferiors, not his equals." Please note that three of the references listed here are fake--two are from employees and one is from Lincoln's nephew.

Experiencia fantástica: I adore this place! I just finished French 101 and am moving to 102. The staff/teacher is amazing and I have learned so much. They make it a fun learning experience. If you are looking for a French class I highly recommend AIL!

Experiencia fantástica: I'm currently enrolled in my 2nd course of Portuguese at AIL. As an educator, I'm impressed and happy with the relaxed yet structured classes. Each student is challenged to their own ability level, but in a way that is beneficial for the entire class. They take a practical approach to teaching + learning where all the prompts, responses, and casual conversations that are naturally spoken throughout the class, are both typed and recorded so we're able to listen and/or watch the videos to review, as well as print or save the .pdf of notes. This genuine environment has created classes of students that are dedicated to learning and supporting one another and have a lot of fun in doing so! I encourage you to contact them and try out a class since you're reading this review!

The school is very nice and most teachers are very cool. I intend to study English with them for a long time. I recommend that you study with them.

Experiencia fantástica: I took a Spanish Group Class here and I can say the teaching methods allow us to communicate and have simple conversations down in a short amount of time. The instructor was a native speaker, which was a definite plus when learning the language. The CEO and the staff were extremely polite as well. I definitely recommend this institute.

Experiencia fantástica: I'm taking German classes at AIL and when it comes to learning, since is a small group class, learning the pronunciation of the vocabulary has never been so easy to comprehend.This place is cozy for anyone, even if you are just waiting for someone, or even if your not involved with the classes and you just want to come study in peace. Located at right in between of the Lenox Mall and Lenox Transit Station for easy access for your other needs or transportation. Thank you AIL for caring about us.

Experiencia positiva: The class was a decent size and the instructor was very knowledgeable but unless you come in with a basic understanding of language this course might not be for you. The very first class, the instructor just went around asking what we already knew. There were people in the class that knew a lot and others that knew absolutely nothing. There almost needs to be some kind of placement test beforehand so you can gauge peoples skills, etc. They just mix you all up in the same class though so you feel behind if you don't have a background already. Also, the class moved way too quickly. They keep pushing information at you but not really practicing in class or retaining the information. 90% of the language you want to learn will be work you do outside of class. There just wasn't enough structure for me. I would have preferred a book and quizzes and that kind of thing. It's all verbal, and the teacher used a word document to take notes and create his own text book throughout the class. I did like the teacher and the staff was friendly. I just don't feel like I learned the way that was easy to retain.

Experiencia fantástica: This language school is a fantastic find for someone who wants excellent language instruction in a welcoming, friendly environment. I've found the hospitality extended by the staff of AIL to be sincere and quite extraordinary. Combining that with outstanding instructors, one really receives value for dollars and time invested in exploring another language and also another culture. I have studied Portugese with Lincoln De Oliveira and have learned how to express myself in that language, a skill that far exceedes just knowing vocabulary and set phrases. This has opened doors to extraordinary friendships with individuals in Brazil as well as with fellow students sharing a similar interest. In preparation for a recent trip to France I took an "intensive crash course" in French from an AIL instructor in a private class and it really enhanced my travel experience by allowing me an understanding of French pronunciation and some basic phrases. I have the convenience of living close to AIL's physical location but I travel frequently and am able to keep up with classes via Skype. I consider this a really exceptional benefit! AIL offers classes for individuals of all skill levels and the staff really works diligently to deliver the highest quality product that is possible. I recommend this language school without hesitation.

I'm amazed how I'm actually learning with my amazing teacher Alia! She is the best! I look forward to being able to use my French in the future! I've been to several language schools and this by far is my favorite!

The owner of AIL worked with us to determine an approach that matched my son’s needs and ensured that he got quickly up to speed. The engaging teaching style and small group environment has been wonderful. My child not only looks forward to class but speaks in Spanish at home for fun! We considered several businesses and private tutors before deciding on AIL and couldn’t be more pleased. The facility is well-kept and family-friendly. The staff is courteous and responsive. Pricing is very reasonable and the school is accommodating of individual needs and goals. As a parent, I couldn’t ask for a more positive experience. Experiencia fantástica: I've really enjoyed my classes at AIL (private tutoring Portuguese, group convo class Portuguese, private tutoring French). My tutors are excellent and really engaging. I like the flexibility of private classes as I can move as quickly or as slowly through the lessons as needed. The institute is also good for people who travel - I travel a lot and we are able to keep most of our sessions via Skype. If we can't keep the session, the staff are really helpful sorting out the scheduling. The set-up at the institute has been really rewarding, I enjoy chatting with staff and students before, between, and after classes. You might think the location is a tough commute - it's really worth it and visiting the institute allows you to focus.

Experiencia fantástica: AIL is a wonderful language learning experience. Thanks to Lincoln opening his home for classes, students become familiar with the language in a comfortable environment. He actually enjoys teaching students and assisting them with whatever language questions they may have. As an added bonus, he tries to get to know his students, something that many other instructors do not have the patience to do. I've personally used AIL for the past eight months, and I can attest that I've significantly improved my language learning ability. But for anyone who presumes learning a language will be easy or will fall into your lap, you're sadly mistaken. You still have to take the individual effort to use the strategies and advice that Lincoln provides in order to improve.
