Fantastic experience: I have been taking French lesson with Anne for many years. I enjoy the individual attention Anne provides. She focuses on what I need to practice and always finds ways for my improvement with French. She provides a learning environment where I can feel comfortable to ask her any questions about my lessons. It is a pleasure to have Anne as my French teacher.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been studying French for nearly two years, and it has easily become my favorite part of the week. My goal was to improve communication with my French colleagues while also challenging myself to learn a new language, and the experience has exceeded my expectations. Anne is an exceptional instructor. She creates an engaging learning environment and does an excellent job of reinforcing vocabulary in a way that feels natural and conversational. Her ability to adapt to your level while keeping lessons dynamic makes a big difference. She is also incredibly sincere and truly invested in her students’ progress and understanding. I highly recommend her to anyone serious about learning French.

Fantastic experience: I highly recommend Anne as a tutor for learning French. She is extremely knowledgeable of both French and English. She has excellent pronunciation of both languages so it is easy to understand her in either language. The cost is extremely reasonable also. You are getting one on one time with a person who is a French native and speaks the language fluently. When I was in college, I took 16 hours of French from a professor who was American and wasn’t perfect at speaking fluent French. It was not one on one personal instruction either. I was in a class with 30 other students and we never learned to truly speak French. We mostly learned pronunciation and some grammar and conjugation rules. I learned very little about speaking conversational French. Anne helps you learn how to understand French. It does very little good if you can speak a language but not be able to understand someone speaking it to you.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been taking French lessons with Anne since 2017, when I wanted to learn some basic French before my trip to Paris. At the time, my daughter was about to go into her freshman year of high school and was also studying French, so she also started taking lessons. During the trip I was already able to understand a lot and speak in full sentences, and today I can confidently have complex conversations in French in a variety of topics, read and understand French texts, and interpret meanings of more difficult content by using context due to the vocabulary and grammar I do know. Anne tutored my daughter for all four years of high school and thanks to her teaching she was greatly successful, being a part of the National French Honors Society, and getting college credit from her AP French score. Not only have the lessons been helpful and have led to wonderful results, but they are also a pleasure— Anne is an incredibly enthusiastic teacher and a lovely person to be around. It’s easy to tell that she genuinely cares about each of her students and their language goals.

Fantastic experience: I have been taking French lessons with Anne for over an year now and have found Anne to be a fantastic teacher. She takes time to explain concepts in a lucid and simplified manner and meets you where you're at. She spends ample time explaining grammatical constructions and introducing new vocabulary as and when needed. She has made learning french fun, approachable and less intimidating for me. Her take home exercises always challenge me to think and apply the concepts I learn in class. I truly appreciate the 1-1 sessions which afford me the time to get my questions clarified. Anne's passion for teaching the French language shines through. She is truly a phenomenal teacher and I would highly recommend NaperFrench classes to anyone who aspires to learn French.

Fantastic experience: Anne is a great teacher! She develops a curriculum based on how you learn and will teach you very useful hacks for the grammar part. She makes it fun and will always explain new material if you aren't catching on. French is such a great language and once you start to make sentences you will be having a conversation in no time. You set the pace and Anne will get you there. I can't say enough about her. No language app will get you speaking or comprehend French as solidly as a live tutor. Call Anne, it is time well spent.

Fantastic experience: I’m in my fifties and decided to learn French with the goal of eventually reading the language. In school I found foreign language classes boring, and online tools gave me some vocabulary but no real ability to converse or write. I knew I needed a teacher, and yet traditional classroom learning wouldn’t work with my schedule or provide the one-on-one attention I knew I would need. How fortunate to find Anne! She takes things at my pace, but she also pushes me every week to keep expanding vocabulary and conversational ability. I also enjoy the lessons themselves very much because Anne provides an opportunity every week to use the language and cement what has been taught. This motivates me to study and put forth the required effort, which is part of what a good teacher does. I’ve been working with Anne almost a year and am both extremely surprised by and pleased with my progress. I can already write and speak to the point that friends who know the language are impressed with my progress. If you are willing to put in the time and effort to study, Anne’s expertise and guidance will give you a platform in which to learn French in an enjoyable manner. I highly recommend her!

Fantastic experience: Anne is a very accommodating and personable tutor who is always understanding and patient. My granddaughter, who has been enrolled for 2 years now, has surpassed the regular level of French for her grade and will be going into Honors and she is now very good at the language. Anne has a great, fun personality and fantastic teaching methods and always shared her experiences and allows for others to do so too while also learning and speaking French. It allows for the student to learn more of the vocabulary and grammar on their own by trying to formulate sentences, not just by the book. She’s the best tutor you can find for learning the language!

She is patient, engaging and develops a great rapport with her students which goes a long way in increasing their confidence and engagement in the language. Would recommend her whole heartedly!

Fantastic experience: Where to begin?! Anne is a phenomenal French tutor, from whom I have benefitted immensely. After trying a few group French classes elsewhere in the Chicagoland area, Anne's location, schedule (for me as a working professional), and one-on-one tutoring was exactly what I was looking for. Anne uses a mix of communication, writing, and reading to improve your French. Nothing about Anne's teaching style felt didactic or route. She is extremely flexible and fun and is conscious and attuned to your own needs and assigns "homework" accordingly. Our hour-long sessions never felt like an obligation, but rather like an hour spent catching up with a dear friend. By the end of every class I would always have a list of new vocabulary I learned, grammar rules I needed to try to apply in my job, and a smile on my face. I have taken Anne for two years and cannot speak highly enough of her. Her enthusiasm and passion for her work is evident (and quite frankly rare). I hope to continue taking classes from Anne in the future as they are incredibly enriching. Merci infiniment, Anne !

Fantastic experience: Une expérience vraiment incroyable. This review is long overdue, but I am a past student at Naperfrench, and I received marvelous tutoring there. I studied with Anne for about a year and a half, and even in such a short time, her guidance was incredible. She was very dedicated to finding ways that helped me best learn and was very patient, but also ready to challenge me and pick at my brain in ways that benefited my growth in the language. Naperfrench is very collaborative and adjusts to the individual student’s needs and speed of progression. Although I only spent a little over a year studying with Naperfrench, I was able to use what I learned during imperative moments as a healthcare worker when dealing with patients who are native French speakers, when an interpreter was not readily available. Even though I have a very long way to go in my studies of the French language, I have gotten a great start in learning with Naperfrench and highly highly recommend this tutor to anyone who wants to learn the beautiful language. Fantastic experience: If you want to learn French, this is the place to do it. Anne is an excellent teacher! She was born and raised in France so I feel like she has taught me things I could have never learned in school or with an app. How French people really speak, customs, manners, life in France etc. She is very patient and professional. She tailors her lessons to her students needs and goes at your pace. She is great with kids as well. My son began his lessons at 6 years old. I look forward to seeing her every week. You will too.

Fantastic experience: I started my French journey several years ago with a group French class that met weekly. I thought I was doing pretty well and went to France with with the excitement of using my new language. It was there that I realized I could read and write, but when I tried to speak I was frozen. I could hear the words in my head perfectly, but when I opened my mouth I couldn’t get the words to come out. It was after that trip that I realized I needed a change. As fun as my group class was, I needed something to push me to the next level. I contacted Anne at Naperfrench and told her that I wanted to be able to speak and have conversations in French. After that meeting, she tailor made a program for me and we got to work. Each week we worked on my conversation skills and simultaneously Anne would take notes of grammatical errors I would make and give me homework based on the things I needed to work on. This method has helped me tremendously. These days my strength IS speaking French. I can’t say enough great things about Anne and Naperfrench. She has pushed me out of my comfort zone and taught me not only how to speak, but to love the French language. Merci infiniment!

Fantastic experience: Anne is a very good teacher. My daughter likes her very much. At the beginning, my daughter was afraid of learning French, After a year of learning with Anne, my daughter feels much more confident about French.

Fantastic experience: I first went to two larger institutions in Chicago to learn French. I had to leave the first one because they could no longer see me for private lessons on the day and time I was available. I then went to the other, more well-known institution for over a year. I decided to leave there because driving into the city every week became cumbersome, and I did not feel like their curriculum was teaching me things I would actually use. Then I found Naper French. I’ve been there for two years now, and Anne is the best. She customizes her curriculum based on my needs, and I always feel like I’m learning something relevant. Her prices for private lessons are also very competitive. As a language teacher myself, I can confidently tell you that Anne uses best practices when teaching, and you will definitely learn French if you’re willing to put in the work.

Fantastic experience: Anne is the best French teacher in town. She not only has passion in teaching, but is also full of enthusiasm. My 10th grader has never much interest towards French even with good grades in school. However, that changed after learning from Anne for the past two months. Anne encourages his speaking, improved his listening skills and filled up the holes that he didn’t fully understand in school. He has fun in Anne’s class! I highly recommend Anne!

Fantastic experience: All three of my daughters have taken a highly concentrated dose of comrade Anne over the years, and we could not be happier. The secret of Anne’s success is her incredible versatility. If your goal is to speak French, she will open your linguistic mind, and you will speak. If you just want to do well in high school French (or any other level of French for that matter), she will teach you all the ins and outs. Anne does have two other “secret weapons”. Firstly, she is a native speaker, and that clearly does help. And above all, despite the years of experience, she is not just going through the motions.. she loves what she does.. she loves teaching French. Fantastic experience: Bonjour Anne, My husband and I thank you for your guidance and efforts in helping our 8th grader with French. When our kid dropped language in 6th grade in school and chose to pursue it outside we did not know if she would actually be committed to her decision. I think your dedication, hard work and passion is rare to find and we are blessed to have you as her teacher. Fantastic experience: I have been studying French With Anne for 6 months now and I absolutely love it! She is so kind, and even when I am so frustrated with myself for getting the pronunciation wrong, she calms me down and just helps me through it. She always has something up her sleeve to throw at me that gets me to understand a little easier. When you are my age, (over 60) it sometimes takes a little longer to soak in, so I am grateful for her never-ending patience. I always look forward to my next class. Fantastic experience: Anne is the best! I’ve been working with her for almost 6 years and I have continued to return because I have so much fun with Anne! She makes French fun and interactive and gets to know each student individually. My French has progressed from knowing nothing to being able to earn a Seal of Biliteracy in French. Learning french can be hard, but Anne makes it a bit easier with her teaching methods and tips. You will feel self-fulfilled after each class and have motivation to work harder knowing that once you get past the hard grammar and vocabulary lessons, you will have more and more time to converse and engage in genuine, natural conversations with Anne just as you would with a friend, but in French! Fantastic experience: Anne is so good at teaching French, especially to kids! She plays normal games like “Operation”, or “Guess Who” to learn body parts, or colors. It’s so fun to work with her, I highly recommend her to anyone wanting to learn French. Although it should be noted that she has a cat that occasionally comes into the room.

Fantastic experience: My daughter has been learning French for a school year with Madame Cottez-Jones. She is not only talented at teaching but cares about her students. My daughter always has fun and cannot wait for the next lesson. Within one school year time, she has learned French equivalent to more than two years of French taught in high schools. Moreover, Madame Cottez-Jones is a native speaker of French with a long term of teaching experience, with whom you rest assure you have a precious opportunity to learn and practice standard French conversation and listening skill. We highly recommend her.

Fantastic experience: I can't say enough great things about Anne and our wonderful experience with her. My son had a D- at the time he first saw her and within a month, he was at a B+. I can''t explain how she helps them improve so dramatically in such a short amount of time but it happened! Not only does she offer help and support during her tutoring session but she consistently offered extra guidance and support if my son needed something before he was to meet with her before his next session. If you need a french tutor, please consider Anne. She is totally worth every penny!

Fantastic experience: My husband saw Anne at Naper French for three semesters of college French. He needed the French to get his Bachelor's degree. She brought him from a D to a B+. I was totally impressed. To quote my husband, " I could not have done it without her." I know she tutors all levels of French, including kids as well as adults. She also tutored him during summer so he didn't fall behind. Highly recommend if you need a French tutor.
