Welcome to Emerson Dual Language School, where education thrives in a dual environment that fosters fluency in both Spanish and English from kindergarten onward. Our students receive 90% of their instruction in Spanish and 10% in English, gradually shifting to 60% English by fifth grade, thus enabling parallel language development and communication skills in both languages.

The school stands out for its commitment to community and equity, ensuring that all students have the opportunity to excel. Our dedicated team, composed entirely of bilingual educators, strives to provide a high-quality education, supplemented by additional teaching resources, including collaboration with teachers from Spanish-speaking countries.

Moreover, Emerson School is proudly celebrating its centennial in 2026, marking a century of dedication to linguistic and bicultural education. We invite families to join us in this celebration and to engage in our vibrant educational environment through community events and volunteering opportunities.

Fantastic experience: Man this school is probably the best Spanish immersion school in the state I used to go to emerson from k to 5 and those years there really helped me with my Spanish for the long run. The staff is so nice and very friendly and willing to help if your child needs it. This school also have very nice field trips too such as going to orchestra hall, having field day at loring Park. So if your looking for a Spanish immersion school to send you r kid too please send them to this one you will never regret it

Negative experience: The kids marching down the street at 8:20 a.m. on a Wednesday morning playing band instruments is really annoying for me as a resident next door. It would be nice if you considered the neighbor's peace so early in the morning. They really don't need to play instruments while they're walking in front of our apartments. People live here, ya know.

Fantastic experience: I love this school! Both of my daughters go there and they also love it. The teachers are so friendly and really know what they are doing. They always have a well controlled class room and make learning fun. My daughters speak better spanish then I do and I took 3 years in high school.

Positive experience: I have 2 children that have gone there. I didn't like when it changed from 8th grade to 5th grade. If you want to learn spanish, its a great place to go. They are a little disorganized and the education level is a little below average. The people are friendly and kids get along with kids great. We could have went to another immersion program, but they would have not got the spanish language better anywhere else then Emerson.
