Chinese Language Academy of Los Angeles

Experiencia fantástica: I’ve had a wonderful experience with CLA Chinese Learning Academy. I first learned with Rachel and am currently studying with Tiana, and both have been fantastic teachers. I genuinely look forward to Sundays because of class. Over the past year, my Chinese has improved so much that I’ve been able to make more Chinese friends and feel much more confident traveling to China. I was also able to travel to Beijing with CLA last year, and this year I’ll be going to Nanjing with them. I really appreciate these opportunities to practice Chinese and experience the culture firsthand.

Experiencia fantástica: Ive been taking online classes at this school for the past year and really recommend it. The teachers are helpful, the class sizes are small, and the study materials are very thorough. Ive learned more Mandarin in the last year taking classes at this school than I have with 10 years of Duolingo.

Experiencia fantástica: It was such a rewarding experience to participate in this program at the Chinese academy. I learned so much and enjoyed the zoom format. It was fun to be able to take a class with my daughter in NYC and me being in Hawaii. I highly recommend this program. The instructors were very patient and thorough with their instructions. Grateful for the opportunity and experience.

Experiencia fantástica: An awesome school, with great teachers. I attended I want to say 4-5 courses here so far, and really made learning Chinese less intimidating. The proud moment for me was writing 汉字 for the first time.

Experiencia fantástica: I’ve taken several courses with Professor Chen, and highly recommend the CLA program. Classes are taught virtually in small groups, that balance individual attention with the benefit of learning from your peers. Professor Chen is well prepared, patient, and has a great understanding of how her students learn. The syllabus has a balance of Reading, speaking, listening and writing (typing). The content is well paced builds on past materials in a way that reinforces learning.
