Experiencia fantástica: I spent two months in the Advanced B class, and it was a fantastic experience! What I loved most was how the curriculum covers all areas reading, speaking, writing, and listening, helping me improve my English in a balanced way. The group classes were a new and exciting experience, and learning directly from native speakers as an international student was incredibly helpful. The student lounge with a microwave made my lunch breaks so much easier, and the monthly activities were the highlight of my stay. Everyone is so welcoming.

Experiencia positiva: كم من العنصرية لا يطاق للعرب و المسلمين درست ٢٠٢١ كان فيه مدرس عنصري علي وعلى العرب و المسلمين بدون سبب و ايضا كان فيه درس جاء فيه موضوع عنصري تجاه التحرر في بلاد المسلمين وكان واضح ان الكره من قبل الادارة والمعلمين لكن اتطلع ان الكلام هذا كله يتغير في الفترة الحالية How much unbearable racism do Arabs and Muslims face In 2021, I had a teacher who was racist toward me, Arabs, and Muslims for no reason. There was also a lesson that included a racist topic about liberation in Muslim countries. It was clear that the hatred came from both the administration and the teachers. However, I hope that this has changed in the present time.

Experiencia fantástica: I had the best experience at CEL Pacific Beach! The school is so close to the beach, and close to restaurants, pharmacy, supermarket. It's a big avenue and you can find everything you need. The school is great, I met many good people. The staff and teachers are always helping and talking to the students. Inside the school you also have everything you need. And of course I improved my english! My teacher was Zack, he is a really good teacher. I hope I can study again at CEL Pacific Beach! If you have the opportunity, please go! And if you love the beach, this is perfect because you can go to the beach everyday after school. The most beautiful sunset I saw was in PB!

Experiencia negativa: It'd be great if they provided the students with somewhere to hang out that's not the middle of a busy parking lot Edit: following up in the owners response, the students do not use the aforementioned lounge. They loiter in the parking lot and shared hallway, smoking cigarettes directly outside of the building well within the 20' law. If there is a lounge area then this business is not taking the necessary steps to ensure their students are not being a nuisance in the shared use area.

Experiencia fantástica: We want to thank all the teachers for what they taught to my son Francesco Sasso, from Italy. When he arrived in America he couldn't speack English well. After one year in Pacific Beach College , he improved so much and now he can speack English very well. So thank you so much!! Now Francesco is bilingual!!

Experiencia negativa: Leider kann auch die Schule nur bedingt empfehlen. Von der Lehrerin im C2 Kurs war nicht nur ich, sondern der ganz Kurs, sehr enttäuscht. Was sie gemacht hat, hat nichts mit gutem Unterricht zu tun. Sie war unmotiviert, unstrukturiert und unvorbereitet. Ich kann hierbei nur bestätigen, was in der vorherigen Rezension bereits über Unterrichtsinhalte geschrieben wurde. Die Organisation vor Ort war auch eher chaotisch. Mails/Anliegen wurden ständig von anderen "Praktikanten" (?) bearbeitet. Für die Unterkunft musste ich 500 Dollar als "Pfand" überweisen. Das Geld habe ich heute, 2 Monate später, erst wieder zurückbekommen. Wegen des Wechselkurses mit einem Verlust von 50€, was meiner Meinung nach bei einem "Deposit" gar nicht sein darf. Schade, denn die Lage der Schule ist sehr schön.

Experiencia positiva: I attended a General English course for 4 weeks. The first two weeks were ok but the most students weren't that motivated. That's why we couldn't do so much during this time. After two weeks I could level up. Unfortunately, I had in my third week the same topic like in one of my first weeks. So it wasn't a real learning week due to this bad coincidence. In the fourth week, I would have again the topic which I've already had in my first or second week. So I asked to change in the Cambridge course. I'm glad that this was possible so I could learn at least a little bit more in this week. Generally, I don't like the kind of program of this Cambridge course. The reason is you have a Cambridge exercise exam one long morning long and on the other day the correction of it. So you only have 3 days for theory and specific exercises. In the end, I was glad to leave the school and learn more English by doing exercises by myself or watching English videos on Youtube. I think the biggest reason why I'm not happy with this school is because I'm really motivated in learning English and wanted to see progress. For all the young students who want to enjoy and partying there it's a good school. What I appreciated was the big motivation of the teachers.

I loved the school and the teachers. I made new friends from different counties and I had amazing moments with CEL.

Experiencia fantástica: I have been in C.E.L. since January and that is the best experience in my all life. Before coming in the USA I was kind of scared because of my knowledge of the language which was so bad and my age too. Because of my teachers, all the stuff, and my schoolmates, my English is improved day by day and now I’m feeling comfortable to use it in my everyday life. I have met special people and built good relationships with everyone and this is another gift that I have received from C.E.L. Meeting different cultures and learning together helping to each other was stimulating. I have also shared feelings and emotions. I was happy when someone new arrived and also sad when someone left. For any problem that I had there was someone ready to help and support me. I felt comfortable in small classes enjoyed by students of different ages and from different country. During the lessons we discussed different topics and I was never bored. My progress were checked every week and I was always correct by my teachers who helped me a lot! I have learned new vocabularies and grammar even playing games and having fun. Every moment was an opportunity to improve. I lived with an host family for a while, in an apartment shared with other students and with Americans too. I had the opportunity to explore a big part of California with the activities and the trip that the school organize every week. I have been in Las Vegas, Los angels, Grand Canyon, the desert, Joshua tree, San Francisco, Santa Barbara and I don’t have enough space to write all the beautiful places that California has to offer. I spent here Halloween which was amazing, my birthday and I’m going to spend here thanksgiving and Christmas too. I have decided to continue my studies here in California and I couldn’t have done this without C.E.L. whether it’s two weeks, 3 months, or 1 year experience, I would recommend everyone to try it because it is something of special!

Tanto a de Downtown onde estudei por um mês quanto a de Pacific Beach, onde estou, não tenho nada a reclamar! O fato de ser 5 minutos da praia e de nenhuma das duas escolas ter brasileiro na minha turma, me ganharam!

Experiencia positiva: ich kann die Sprachschule leider nur bedingt weiter empfehlen. ich habe den B2 Kurs besucht, das Lehrbuch war für meinen Geschmack zu leicht. Ich hatte in den insgesamt sechs wochen zwei Lehrerinnen. die eine war die beste englischlehrerin die ich je hatte. ich habe in nur zwei Wochen vieles gelernt und spaß gehabt. die andere hat uns praktisch gar nichts beigebracht. es wurden überwiegend in Stillarbeit grammatikaufgaben gelöst oder es wurden spiele veranstaltet! Die Lehrerin hat währenddessen mit ihrem privathandy telefoniert oder Nachrichten verschickt. für 280 Dollar die Woche ein teurer spaß! ich habe mich darüber beschwert, als antwort nur pikierte gesichter. dazu kommt noch dass man im sommer oftmals nachmittags bis 17 Uhr unterricht hat. ich habe mich am schluss so über die unfähige Lehrerin geärgert, dass ich nicht mehr hingegangen bin und die letzten tage lieber am strand verbracht habe. Schade eigentlich, die schule an sich ist schön, das personal nett. ich wäre nochmal wiedergekommen wenn das nicht passiert wäre.
