After spending 4 weeks attending a school in Spain daily last summer, I learned very little Spanish and felt defeated. However, I found CCLS online this fall and after just 2 lessons, I began understanding and speaking this beautiful language! The reason for my success is because the methodology at CCLS teaches a student to understand what the teacher is saying in order to respond accordingly. Amazing! As simplistic as this idea sounds, conversational language can be learned in the absence of rote-memorization, recitation and old-school workbook exercises. I highly recommend CCLS for beginners and advanced students who desire to gain command of their desired new language. Oh, and the staff is positively fabulous and welcoming!

Experiencia fantástica: I grew up in a home with some Spanish being spoken by my Central American mother, but not consistently enough for me to conjugate and speak with confidence, which left me listening to conversations in Spanish (understanding a lot but not all) and responding in English. I wanted to work on changing that and found CCLS! I really appreciated the immersive style of the classes and found myself dusting off skills/learning new things that are helping reestablish some of the building blocks of the Spanish language I needed. Experiencia negativa: Booked this class for my boyfriend who owns a construction company. The teacher is nice and their customer service is also great. Unfortunately, you need to know some form of Spanish because every single aspect of the class & workbooks are in Spanish. No translation to English happens at any point. The idea of immersion makes sense, but it’s very challenging if you don’t know what even basic words mean. They said it is normal to feel lost, but we decided not to continue because it was too much money to be lost daily with no retention. They did try to make us understand the learning style & spoke with the teacher on our behalf, but it still wasn’t working. The teacher spoke slower at the next class but it’s still a foreign language either way. Seems it would be better if there was an English version so students could follow along. I’m sure it works for some learning styles though, just not all.

Experiencia fantástica: I have muddled along through life with enough Spanish to get by in most situations typical for tourists, but I wanted to level up my Spanish game. I found CCLS and loved they had in-person and not just online classes. The in-person interaction works best for my learning style. The staff and my instructor are great. The online help for electronic texts or issues has been prompt and efficient as well. I’m now in level 5 after testing into level 4. I look forward to continuing my studies here. My improvement has exceeded my expectations.

Experiencia fantástica: So far I love CCLS! I started in level 4 out of 7 and continued into level 5 and am learning so much. I took Spanish in college and I love the structure of these classes. You strictly speak Spanish, even all the grammar is taught in Spanish so you pick things up really quickly! They also have activities outside of class that are free and optional which are very cool! I would highly recommend CCLS to anyone really trying to kick their learning into high gear!

I like the facility, the location, the staff, the teachers, the learning style, and a special shout out to DEBORAH RIVERA. She is an amazing teacher. She absolutely cares about teaching, and it is felt by the students. She creates an environment that makes you feel safe to learn, fail, and improve. On the rare occasion, we have substitute teachers, and they are all great teachers too. Had to drop in and give them a deserved 5 stars.

The teachers are top Notch and Cinthya does a great job running the school. I attend Monday and Wednesday from 6-8pm. It’s laid back and fun. The classes are small — 4 to 7 students. The school emphasizes speaking Spanish from day one and teaches you conversational skills. I highly recommend it for learners of all levels.

Experiencia fantástica: I am studying Spanish for personal fulfillment, Not for work. My opportunities to practice Spanish outside of class are limited. I work full-time, Often overtime. I have a non-Spanish-speaking spouse. Nonetheless, the goal is important to me, and I take classes seriously. I value CCLS. I like the methodology. More importantly, I value the quality of the teachers. For a while now, I’ve been working with Julio Cesar. It may sound over the top, but truly— I don’t have words to express how fantastic his teaching style is. He’s the teacher you want to hear your kids talk about. He’s inspiring, patient, funny, dedicated, knowledgeable. He makes students comfortable- I meant to say, he creates a safe space for making mistakes, which of course is inevitable. He knows when to push, and when to pull back. He stays after class when necessary. I’ve been studying Spanish for 1.5 years now. I’m certainly not fluent. But, people regularly tell me that they are impressed with my vocabulary and grammar skills— that they are much greater than would be expected for someone who is studying Spanish part-time for 1.5 years. I have farther to go, and I truly believe that CCLS will help me get there. Try CCLS! And try to get Julio Cesar!

Experiencia fantástica: Spanish courses for everyone. I highly recommend CCLS for learning Spanish (or other languages) I have been a student for 2 months and learned so much! The curriculum focuses on listening and speaking Spanish while learning the grammar. The instructors are knowledgeable, relatable, and fun to work with. There are monthly group outings to help you practice Spanish in the real world. My understanding and comprehension of Spanish has increased dramatically since I started classes. I started with group classes then went to private tutoring and both experiences were good. I myself am a Professor and the method of teaching here at CCLS really works.

Experiencia fantástica: Signing up for Spanish classes at CCLS Houston was one of the best decisions I've ever made for myself. After many years of wanting to learn Spanish and not having long-lasting success, I started looking into classes. I interviewed a few, but utlimately landed on CCLS. For me I knew I would do best in a group classroom setting with a tried and true structured curriculum. The group lessons are typically 5-8 people, so it's a great balance of personal attention and guidance as well as the group dynamic. They do also offer private as well as virtual classes, and so it's great for whatver your needs are. I know some people started in virtual and switched to in-person, and vice-versa. Life changes and they accomodate your needs to continue your learning. I was impressed with how passionate everyone was from the teachers to the president, Cinthya Trueba. They also have fun social activities that tie in to various Spanish cultural connections - from food to dancing to traditions. That aspect really helped classmates become friends and something I really appreciated about the school in general. I would highly reccommend going in to see if it's right for you too. They let you sit in on a class to see exactly what you can expect. Definitely consider CCLS if you're wanting to finally learn Spanish (they also offer Portuguese and English). I'm so happy I did!

I have been reaching out via social media, email and phone. Initially I received anemail asking if I would like someone to get back with me on more info. I said yes over a month ago and have yet to speak with anyone. Tried calling during posted business hours and phone consistently goes to voice mail.

Experiencia negativa: I have recently been exploring options for furthering my education and was drawn to this institution based on some of the programs they offer. However, my attempts to connect with them have been completely fruitless. Despite calling on multiple occasions at various times, I have not once been able to speak with someone. Each call goes unanswered, leaving me with a growing impression that they are not interested in engaging with potential new students. This lack of responsiveness has been incredibly disheartening and leads me to question their commitment to their student community. An institution that doesn't make an effort to answer basic inquiries surely sends a wrong signal about their interest in welcoming new students.

The company I work for found CCLS and I started my lessons with Carol Pianzola. Carol is an outstanding and experienced teacher , she is an American teacher fluent in Spanish, her experience living in Mexico for several years give her a very unique background in the culture and the language that is valuable for a native Spanish speaker who wants to improve their accent in English. I definitively recommend Carol and CCLS.

Having previously taught at another well-known international language school, I think the unique, science-based CCLS teaching methodology is above par for rapid, practical learning by any language student. As an employee, I’m pleased with the compensation, the professional regard I receive from the CEO and administrative assistants, the classrooms (with skyline views), the technology available to us, and even the always clean and stocked refreshment area. I give CCLS my heartiest recommendation both to other teachers and to prospective students.

I can see in my own students how quickly and easily they learn English, while laughing and having fun with me. Mana and Cinthia are always a pleasure to be around. CCLS has consistently paid me on time and the full amount owed. The $200 I paid initially, was fully reimbursed to me after teaching my first classes. If you come and work here, just watch your waistline! They are always celebrating something!

I have been taking their Spanish course from the beginning and am now starting level 6 out of 7 and I have learned so much and feel confident I will be fluent by the end of the course. Learning a new language is tough and sometimes you wonder if it will ever make sense but with the way they teach you it all comes together and you are understanding and speaking at a fast rate! There're many FREE ESL classes in Houston but if you want to improve your English skill, it's better to go to a language school like CCLS. I’ve taken an “ENGLISH IN GENERAL” course for three months. My teacher loves English language, so he teaches me not only about in textbooks but also something that I want to know during my daily life. All CCLS staff are kind and courteous to students. Facilities are not so large but it makes me feel like I’m at home. They held a wonderful Christmas party and it’s a good opportunity for me to speak English with other students and teachers. 英語をしっかり学びたい方にオススメです。 ヒューストンには、教会などに無料のESLクラスがありますが、英語力を伸ばすためには、ここのような語学学校に通った方が良いと思います。 スタッフの対応はしっかりしており、授業も分かりやすく楽しいです。マンツーマンか、複数の生徒と一緒に受けるか、を選ぶことが出来ます。

Experiencia fantástica: This establishment is exactly what I was looking for. Years ago, I made a personal goal to become fluent in Spanish. I continue to be a work in progress, but this class has helped tremendously. The methodology really works. It is full immersion for the duration of the class. If you are unsure of how to say what you want to say, the instructor encourages you in to utilize the vocabulary you do know to get your point across. That may sound intimidating but that is what assists in becoming fluent. Best of all, it is done in a very non-threatening, fun way. My instructor, Georgina, is amazing. She's got great energy, charisma, and really knows how to pull out the best in each of the students. I am also working on earning my AA in Spanish at a community college. That has given me a very good solid background on the rules of Spanish, but CCLS has REALLY given me confidence and the foundation to build on my fluency. My coworkers have all taken note of how much my Spanish skills have improved since starting the course at CCLS. I am deeply grateful to have found Cinthya and CCLS. Gracias por todo!
